Ours was like this too. After looking at a lot of things I found out with the pellets removed that the auger would jam on a hard pellet and it would stop the motor from feeding. Turned out to be a bad weak motor. They sent another and I replaced it and now works fine. That's been about three years ago so was a good fix. I use it all the time.

Sounds like you got a lemon. I’ve had a Daniel Boone for 8 years and love it so much I bought a 2nd one for our campsite. Haven’t replaced a single part yet.

Man I wish I had been that lucky. I loved the app interface. Now I use Meater for a temp probe.

I have had my Davy Crocket for about 5 years. What I did not know, better clean it up ever 2-3 cooks, rrmove the ashes. Put a handful of pellets into the chamber. Since I sm doing this, works like a charm.

I had nothing but trouble with mine brand new for 2 years. Same thing. Would randomly stop feeding pellets, wild temp swings, and completely cold no fire pellets would not feed. Multiple calls to support, they also sent me new a board, new sensor, blah blah blah. I hated this thing nothing they suggested or parts they sent fixed it. Tried all kinds of different pellets. Nothing worked. As a final desperate try, I eventually bought a complete auger assembly replacement kit. That was about 3 years ago and what do you know, it has worked fine since. Sucks to drop another $165 or whatever they run now to fix something that never worked new out of the box, but it made the difference for me finally. I cook trouble free overnight now, and the temps hold very well. Dont know why the old assembly was such a problem all I can figure it apparently had some manufacturing defect, but the new assembly completely changed my grills behavior way, way for the better.

I'm so glad to see these comments. We've had our DB since 2016. This month it decided to not hold the heat. GMG customer service is non-existent. I've called, emailed never a response. Please please I beg you, do not waste your money on GMG.

Got one free that did same thing clean out hopper and feeder tube mine was sooo overfull it would not ignite

Would the issues not be covered under warranty? Have you contacted GMG? If so what did they say? I am getting ready to purchase a pellet grill and the GMG Daniel Boone WiFi is in my top 3. Thanks for the video.

It's out of warranty now. At first they helped but I got tired of calling every time and some lame excuse like the chimney has to be so many inches open then it was just take the chimney cap off. Then do you use our pellets? Got a Pit Boss it works great. Hope you found something that works good for you!

Agree!! Mine won't hold temp. Have had it for 4 months. I'm dragging it out to my pasture and shooting it. Then I'm running it over.

This is the exact problem I have also. The initial load of pellets works then the auger doesn't engage to keep feeding. Everytime you restart the auger works once.

I wish you luck. Nothing ever changed for me. New control board, pellets, venting, it didn't matter. Went to a pitboss and wish I went to it sooner.

Bought mine used. I clean out the auger every 3 times or so works like a champ. I have had it for a year and used it 20 plus times. Cooking on it as I'm typing.

These aren't that complicated. The hot rod is working, the auger is working, the fans are working, the temp sensor is working. Replace the controller again.

I'm just gonna throw it out there that you have to have enough pellets to feed through for the auger to do it's thing. There is a low pellet sensor (yes the one covered) which GMG has said on their website can be disconnected if issue comes of it constantly beeping (parts go bad). You just have to make sure there are sufficient pellets in the hopper especially if you disconnect or disable this feature.

Honestly GMG grills are garbage. I’ve had nothing but problems with mine and never had a successful cook on it. I’ve wasted so much money on brisket that’s ruined because this thing has so many temperature issues. The app is also complete garbage.

My boss gave me his Daniel Boone because he couldn’t figure out why it would go past three on the start up,he got a new control board all that shit,it was doing the same thing with me,so checked the the 12v plug-in and they carry a 15 amp 250v glass fuse,cost me 3 bucks for a pack,replaced the fuse and it works perfect I’ve had it two weeks now and used 4 times zero problems,so now I got a 1000 dollar smoker for 3 bucks 👍
