Green Spot is an excellent whiskey. An example of one that can rival some great single malt Scotches. Complexity of flavor abounds in this whiskey. Cheers!

I read an article that stated Green Spot is now sold in the US? Is there a way to use a store locator so costumers can find where it is sold?

HI Theresa, where are you based? We might be able to help a little if we know where you are. Another avenue worth checking is Caskers - www.caskers.com/spirits/green-spot-single-pot-still-irish-whiskey/

so where does the difference between jameson and greenspot come about? Is it from different blending/aging techniques?

I will do my best (poorly I’m sure) to help clear it up. Green Spot is a Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey. At its simplest, this means that it is distilled (in this case triple) using the traditional Copper Pots using a mixture of malted and un-malted barley. It is not blended with any other grain whiskey. Any blending occurs only within the context of the barrels which are used in maturation of the distilled spirit, i.e. a portion is matured in previously used American Bourbon barrels, and a portion matured in European Oak barrels that had previously been used for Sherry. After maturation, the matured whiskey is blended. Green Spot maturation is 7 -10 years. Jameson Original by contrast is a Blended Irish Whiskey. It is a blend of malted and un-malted barley distilled in Pot Stills, and also a grain whiskey distilled in Column stills. The whiskey is blended prior to maturation. It then matures for a minimum of three (or four, website conflicts) years in previously used American Bourbon barrels. Maybe others? I am hopeful of two things here… One, that I didn’t screw up my novice attempt at explanation. Two, that if it was close to correct, you found it helpful. OP - If I have misspoken, PLEASE correct me. Sláinte!

Green Spot was (traditionally) a 10 year old but doesn't seem to carry an age statement anymore... not living up to its origins, unfortunately though I'll still sample it. Glad to see that Yellow Spot is back and at its proper age of 12.
