Nice review and a very nice Taylor 314ce. Well, I happen to own this lovely guitar too. I’m most likely going to try Green Spot, maybe the Yellow Spot too. But there are so many to taste!

Thank you for the compliments and for your fine taste in guitars. I've been traveling for the past 18+ months (@findingGinaMarie), so my Taylor is in storage along with my Strat and PRS. I do miss getting to play them. The Green Spot is going to be much more affordable and accessible than the Yellow Spot, but I'd love to hear your comparison if you do get to try them both. And, yes, there are so many whisky expressions out there. Cheers!

Just finished my Yellow Spot. So good, I will definitely be getting another.

Nice! What do you like about Yellow Spot?

Due to a shipping snafu I ended up with a free bottle of Yellow Spot - and I just blew through it as if it was Jamesons (: I probably prefer Redbreast 15 (comparable price) over Yellow Spot - but it's a close battle and they are unique enough you can have both on your shelf. I am also searching for a Blue Spot ... I've seen Red Spot a few times, but the price has always been too high to bite. Cheers, and thanks for the review!

Same with the Red Spot. I think I prefer Redbreast 12 as an everyday Irish Whiskey. I’ll need to get a bottle of the 15 again to compare it to Yellow Spot. That’s a pretty nice “shipping snafu” and I wouldn’t mind one or two of those to happen to me. ;)

@@WhiskyRiffs I think Dark Silkie might be an interesting one. One of the few peated Irish whiskeys. A personal favourite of mine and excellent value for money.

Great review, hopefully you're able to pick up a bottle of Blue Spot soon. It's my favourite of the "spot series", cask strength, but really approachable, and full of brighter notes like pineapple.

Thanks for the compliment! And you're making my mouth water talking about Blue Spot. I just checked all my sources and the earliest delivery is next month, unless they move that timeline again. I'm looking forward to it.

I like yellow spot. For me, it’s difficult to pay the price green spot commands (locally at least) for a non age statement Irish whiskey - green spot is around $80 here and yellow spot is just $20 more at about $100-$110 a bottle. I’ve heard in some places yellow spot is more like double the price, but that is not the difference here at least. Probably distributor pricing or taxes or something. I’ve never tried blue spot or red spot or any of the special/limited bottles.

Pricing for the Spot whiskies are all over the place. I don’t think of Green Spot as a lesser whiskey than Yellow Spot, just a different flavor profile. But then again, I love the flavor profile of Green Spot. My attitude is that any whisky under $100 is an easy buy for me, as long as I like it. Over $100, I have to really like it. Over $200 and it better be something pretty damn special. ;)

The price variances around the country are maddening. Here are the current common prices in the Dallas area: Red $190, Blue $130, Yellow $110, Green $59.

Would you review the green spot Montelena and the Leoville Barton?

great review! I love the yellow spot. Is your pricing for it in U.s dollars or Canadian?
@WhiskyRiffs2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gee! All my pricing is in USD, unless otherwise stated in the video. Right now, I can only get Yellow Spot in one of my local stores and it's $120 USD. Green Spot is half that price at $60 USD. Cheers!
@catnapgee53572 жыл бұрын
@@WhiskyRiffs interesting. I can get yellow spot at most any of my Manitoba liquor marts for $103 Canadian. I guess sometimes I get to be the lucky one!
@WhiskyRiffs2 жыл бұрын
@@catnapgee5357 Yep, less than $85 USD is fantastic. Local prices and distribution of whisky is inconsistent at best. Canada often wins with certain types of whisky. Enjoy!

I enjoy it as well, but I'm not sure that I like it that much better than Green Spot for the price. Do you like Green Spot as well or is it too young and bright?
