Green to Gold FaceBook Page Posted the Following on 28 Jan 22. Congratulations to everyone who made the list. We appreciate everyone who applied this year. Each of you put in a great deal of hard work, time and effort. This was the largest G2G Board ever, and the most Soldiers ever selected. To those of you who did not make it we encourage you to review your application and keep your eyes open on the G2G ADO FB site for discussion as to how to improve for next year. Before you do anything else please do us a favor and read the MILPER message in its entirety, as well as the individual notification email you received from your processor. The dates that are in there are critical to your Phase 2 success. Please pay particular attention to the HRC PCS limitations. We are already fielding numerous questions that could be answered by reading those documents. As it stands, your report date to school will be 5 August, which is five days before the PCS Stop goes into effect. If you receive a separate email from your processor about your choice of major, your online school of choice, your DEROS, or any HRC deficiencies you need to be very proactive. We are trying our best to keep you informed very early this year and not have any last minute surprises. HRC has already provided us the names of those who need corrections, and we appreciate it! You now know who you are. Remember that to get an offer letter you have to meet all Cadet Command document requirements as well as all HRC rules to be able to be placed on assignment. These are in your handbooks. The HRC requirements are AEA code, EFMP status, MRC, ETS, clearance, and no flags. A no go in any one of these no-goes your offer letter. We saw a number of Phase 2 documents uploaded today, with about a 50% first time go rate. If you do not use the PMS acceptance letter in the portal it will be returned to you. Your 104R's have to be complete, to include school, degree, and projected graduation date. They also require three signatures, yours, the PMS, and the school official. If you are a Scholarship winner your company commander has your email and instructions for further processing. Once again, thanks. Please get ahead and stay ahead. June 1st is just around the corner. G2G Team

To all my prior enlisted brothers and sisters out there with 90 college credits accumulated. And no degree. You can go OCS with the National Guard in participating States. They will give you up to the rank of Captain to finish your bachelor's degree. And you can use your state tuition assistance through the guard to help cover the cost of school. So you can go part-time while you're in the guard / working your civilian job

You said if You have your associates (or if you can finish your degree in two years) for the active duty option you can apply, so if I have 60 out of 120 credits, should I stop and wait to see if I am accepted or should I continue using TA and take more classes while I wait?
@britneyford Жыл бұрын
With 60 credits you should be able to finish in two years. At this point apply to the G2G program. Look into the school of your choice, check what classes you need for that bachelors you are interested and works towards those classes. You could do either or, I would suggest you continue taking classes that way your work load is easier while you’re in the program. On the other hand if you’re in a busy unit and taking classes would only add stress then there’s no need to take more classes. Talk to the school counselor and see what they advise in regards to you being able to complete the degree in 2 years with the classes you have now .

Awesome video. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity for HIP since my unit pushed it out so late in the year, so I will try again for this year's. When applying for a school and the ROTC Program, do you have to choose a major? I have a couple of college hours but no degree yet.
@britneyford2 жыл бұрын
I understand it’s frustrating to miss out on another year but know that you are compensated for every year served. For example if you serve 5 years you will be paid more for every year as opposed to a brand new LT so that a plus! As for choosing a school, yes you will need to choose a major because you need to submit a 104-R which is spreadsheet that lays out what classes you will take throughout the semesters. For the Hip pocket scholarship you don’t need any college credits you can apply for the 4 year scholarship. Pro tip make sure that you get credit for your JST credits.

Hey I know you posted this video a while ago but I wanted to ask cause know one is able to answer if you can use the scholarship option for med school. I know I want to get out the army to go to pt school next year and I will be applying to multiple pt schools including the army Baylor program. But if I don’t get accepted in the army Baylor program I would still attend pt school. So I want to know if it’s possible to apply for the green to gold scholarship option and use it to attend pt school. I looked into the health professions scholarship and they don’t cover PT since the Baylor program produces most army PT
No you can’t BUT it can lead you into a path to do it. (Not sure if PT Is one of the accepted programs but it might fall under the medical program) read the article link in this thread. Essentially you will have to do 2 years in ROTC then you will apply for education delay to go to PT school. The downfall is you can only do this in the scholarship option not the active duty option. This is also not guaranteed, you’ll have to apply for Ed delay therefore it’s not guaranteed

You are already eligible for the G2G Program since you have 2 years active duty. The best advice I have is to ensure you choose a few people you can ask for letters of recommendation. These people will most likely want to interview you and ask you stuff like “why do you want to be an officer” etc. rehearse and know what you will say in these interviews. You shouldn’t have any other interviews to be accepted for the green to gold program besides a paper board (your whole packet goes up to a board and they decide). Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you, yes you can still get a scholarship. The only scholarship you qualify for is the one where you’d have to compete for active duty. What GI bill is better for gtg Montgomery or post 9/11?
@britneyford Жыл бұрын
Depends on what you needs. Here are the main points to consider: The Montgomery sends the check straight to YOU. This is a good option if you have a scholarship that’s covering your tuition already. If you go this route definitely pay the $600 to BUY UP, you pay $600 and then you will receive extra money each money for example (not accurate numbers just examples, the check is 2,200 with the buy up you’ll get 2,500 each month) Under the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the VA will pay up to the in-state tuition price tag of public universities. For veterans enrolled in a private institution, tuition assistance is capped at a current national maximum of $26,042.81. Veterans receiving Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits can also apply to school with a Yellow Ribbon program, which helps cover the gap between benefits and out-of-state tuition, graduate school tuition, or costs at private institutions. Only certain schools have Yellow Ribbon agreements with the VA, so be sure to check with your desired institution first. The Post-9/11 GI Bill also offers benefits including a monthly housing allowance, annual book stipend of up to $1,000, and a one-time relocation payment for eligible recipients. The monthly housing allowance is typically the same as the basic allowance for housing that an E-5 with dependents would receive in the same zip code.
@coltonmiller1509 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the help. As active duty green to gold it says no BAH with post 9/11 since you already get it. So I was trying to see which one is better before using it. Do you know if you can switch over to post 9/11 after using the Montgomery?

Do you need to have an associates or just 60 college credits? Also can you use your JST?
@britneyford3 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to have an associates just enough credits to graduate within 2 years. YES you can use JST. What I did , was take an easy course at a community college and transfer my JST credits to that school. Then applied to the big school that had an ROTC program.

Thank you beautiful! Take notes and share with the hubby. They have options for him to be a pilot, he can always go the Warrant Officer route, of course.

Can I use green to gold to do another bachelors degree If I already have a bachelors degree
@britneyford3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can HOWEVER keep in mind: To get 4 years worth of education you’ll have to do a 4 year scholarship option which means you will have to ETS. From my understanding the active duty option is only a two year program and allows you to get your masters (2 years since you have a bachelors already) or it allows you to finish your bachelors (2 years since you already have 2 years done)

how do i increase my GT score at the education center??
@britneyford3 жыл бұрын
You have to sign up for a course that is offered at the post education center. It’s about 3-4 weeks long. Your commander has to sign off on you attending this school since it’s an all day event 9-5pm, usually. The course is focused heavily on math and English , specifically learning new vocabulary. For the most part everyone that attends the course will raise their score if they study and put in the effort. I have seen people get lower scores but that was because they didn’t take the course serious.

If I do green to gold, can I do an inter-service transfer to the air force?
@britneyford3 жыл бұрын
I believe it’s possible but not quite sure if you’d have to ETS first

If you already have a degree and interested in becoming an officer, how do you get there, am 35 yearsold?
@britneyford2 жыл бұрын
You can apply for the green to gold active duty option and get a masters or if you already have a masters you can get a different masters degree. This would be a two year option, the reason you have to do a two year option is because you have to go to summer camp at the end of your Junior year. If you don’t want to do this option you can always to OCS , officer candidate school. You apply and go to a two month course I believe and become an officer. I don’t know much about this option but from what I’ve heard from close friends is that your options for what branch you want are limited.

I didn’t know you can go to medical school with this
@britneyford6 ай бұрын
You can’t with this program necessarily, but there’s a way around it. You’d have to do the scholarship option and then apply for education delay, which is not something that’s guaranteed.

Do you have to have atleast an associates to do green to gold?
@britneyford3 жыл бұрын
No you don’t, just enough credits to be able to graduate/commission and finish your bachelors within 2 years. THIS IS FOR THE ADO option! You can always apply for the 4 year scholarships option. You will have to ETS with this option.

For everyone that thinks going green to gold helps you … it doesn’t all it dose is help the army. You can literally come in as a specialist and get a masters degree in two years just by using ta.
@britneyford Жыл бұрын
Yes you can enter the army and use TA for maters but you are still enlisted. The green to gold program allows enlisted members to become Officers. The program allows you to be a full time student. Using TA route- you’d have to be a soldier (doing active duty tasks) and a student. In a perfect world you could get your masters in 2 years, but if you’re in the 82nd or any other high demanding unit you won’t get it done in that short amount of time.
