The Enclosure looks so big in the Video. I have a 4x2x4 for a Neonate. Tried Sexing it after I found your Guide but unsure since it’s only 3 Month old.

At three months old, it would be very difficult to sex unless you used LED sexing. This is hard to do by yourself since the babies tend to not want to be still 😂 I'd wait for it to be 6-9 months old and try to see what it looks like. Males usually have bulging by then.

Love your videos! This one was really helpful and I'm wondering if you have a link or name of the water cups you got off of amazon. I haven't been able to find them when I search. Thank you!

Great enclosure. How long has it been going? Is that plywood that you coated with drylok? I am curious since I am trying to build my enclosure and looking for ideas. How many coats of drylok did you apply? Did you build a standard frame?

I've had this one a couple years. I did three coats of tinted drylok. Then I sealed it with clear aquarium sealant. It's held up good so far, holds more humidity and heat than other cages I built. For the others I built my own doors and used polycrylic instead of drylok. I think having glass sliding doors makes it hold heat and humidity better.

Can you keep 2 monitors together easily . For example can 1 keep 2 females or one male one female . What sex are yours ?
@TheReptileWhisperer

They like having a buddy. You can keep two females together or a male and female together. You can't keep two males together though, they will not like each other.

I have a 4 year old female that I had since she was a baby and I got a male had him for about a year in a different enclosure he’s healthy what the best way to introduce them?
@TheReptileWhisperer
@TheReptileWhisperer Жыл бұрын
I'd let them smell each other and see how they do outside of a cage. If they seem ok, put the male in her cage with her. Watch him to make sure he doesn't get aggressive. He probably won't but I've seen it once so I'm just warning you. They should be fine though. They will probably get used to each other over a week or so and then they will start spending time with each other, sleeping together etc

Any tips on handling
@TheReptileWhisperer
@TheReptileWhisperer 18 күн бұрын
They are naturally curious so eventually they will want to check you out. Just stay still and let them jump and crawl on you. Don't ever grab or constrain them because they will get scared and not become friendly. Be gentle with them. Wild ones are a little different though...they are scared in the beginning and can be skittish. Best thing to do is be patient and handfeed them, try to get them to walk on you to get food so they learn to trust you.

dont you have to use a none light bulb (like ceramic) or tube heater for night time heating or the bulb would be lit all through night and lizards would not get there dark night time

I have six tree monitors. Two of them are babies I kept from different clutches. The ones in the video are Kiwi, a baby I kept from my original pair of tree monitors, and Basil was given to me by a friend. So neither one cost me anything haha
