LOL! Those outtakes! "I am not here to look pretty" Why people think that there is just one way of doing things? I have noticed this on many occasions that a new product is deemed "not up to code" when it truly is. Some people just seem to hate change for every darn reason without really doing much research. They also fail to understand that building codes are different around the country. Nice job on getting the pads pretty level, it was hard work but, in the end, saved extra work. Great job!

We used 360° laser line levels back in the mid 80's when we were building the second solar plant in the Mojave Desert. The lines were infrared and required special receivers, but are truly a Godsend! Your project is looking great! Stay hydrated (with water) Y'all.
@sam-and-angela2 жыл бұрын
Very cool!! I bet those were some high dollar lasers! :)
@normandothegreat2 жыл бұрын
@@sam-and-angela I'm sure! We weren't allowed to touch the lasers/pods, they were set up by the surveyor(s), we were only able to use the receivers when we set the forms and to make sure the concrete crew did not move anything out of requirement specs after their pour. One of the crewmembers was let go for "adjusting" the laser after he accidentally kicked one of the legs. Our measurements were only allowed for errors less than 1/32" maximum, tight tolerances considering we were working on sand. It was an experience that's for sure. 🥴👍

Yep nothing wrong with using the proper screws. There are so many people out there who are totally not with up to date with todays world. I personally like screws better (proper used on likes you are using) because after 5 or 10 years from now (especailly here in AZ where wood shrinks fast) I see nails working their way out all the time on decks, steps and other outside structures. I rarly ever see screws come out.

Great job!, however, you need to turn every other bracket 90 degrees so that your posts don't have a tendency to lean one way or the other when the deck is loaded. Also remember to cut and install your diagonal 4x4 braces to prevent rocking and swaying of the deck framing!! Have fun, and send some rain to Southern California!, lol 😆

Hi Sam & Angela No judgement here. I know there's a certain amount of effort to create a good video. But as far as I'm concerned just being yourself good or bad is more enjoyable to watch than some choreographed video where only the perfect aspects are shown. To me that's boring, because no one's life is perfect. Sam Thanks for explaining each phase of the project. Angela Thanks for throwing in a funny remark or two. Thats why I like the bloopers at the end Curious as to what the red thing is in the background on several shots. Wishing you the best Stay strong and safe
