@@The10AcreWoods Hi Tara, for me art is the coming together of passion and imagination. I rescue and retrain parrots, I had to rely on both to build more suitable enclosures and healthier toys. My birds also prefer natural plants, so I grow them - much faster -- thanks to my great neighbor who suggested i use used coffee grinds to speed up the growth process. Keep up your art. Its inspiring!

Thanks for another great video. It's interesting to learn about electric fencing. We have two wood fenced pastures for our horses but it would be nice to have a third small one for the summer. The green house is coming along so well. You guys will have so many vegetables this year. Do you think you might be able to have at least some visitors? Best wishes 🐴🐓🐑🦃🐥🦆☀️❤️

Do you hollow out bales please explain this technique
@The10AcreWoods4 жыл бұрын
Straw bale gardening, condition the bales, we did last year 10 day process to get the bale to start composting, then just rough up(bale is hollow side up) seed right on top and cover with light layer of soil. Can also poke holes and place seedlings in the top or sides.

Love it. Is your pallet beds used with treated timber? Not sure over there, but in Australia using treated timber in vegetable garden beds is strongly discouraged. Love the vids!
@The10AcreWoods4 жыл бұрын
No, the lumber is not treated. The chemicals used in the treatment process can leach into the soil and is why it should not be used. 👍

When you plant the peppers and tomatoes plant them deep. The stems will grow stronger root system along the stems making the stalks stronger. If you pinch off the suckers from the tomatoes you get mire plants to plant also!

Yes, unfortunately depression set in the next day and she started to act out without the care of her owner. She started to bully the other animals and even tried to bite Tara when feeding. We could have moved her to one of our isolation pens but that is not what the owner wanted and she decided to pick her up, I think she also was missing Mimi.

I wanted to touch upon a subject of volunteers. Years ago, my oldest son had a friendship with a married couple. The male and female made suggestions to my son as to the color scheme he needed for his living room walls. My son purchased the paint, brushes, paint pans and paint rollers. The husband and wife came to his home to assist him with the preparation and painting. To their surprise, my son was filming them painting his walls. They stopped and they needed to go home since they were exhausted. I asked my son how much of the painting he had accomplished with the couple and he responded none. I do realize that everyone is not like my son. Sometimes volunteers can expect owners of the property to complete projects far greater than themselves unrealistically. Perhaps your volunteers expected far more from you than was humanely possible. Thank you for sharing.
@The10AcreWoods4 жыл бұрын
Were pretty adaptable here, there are so many aspects of volunteering and levels, and sometimes it is just about the company, having fun with a common goal.
