When my office mate would get tired of her untidy space, I would have no plan to do anything about my real mess. Before long I would be sucked into that vortex and be a cleaning fool right along with her!!! She was half my age, but we got along so well for 15 years, til I retired. Sometimes I also find myself tidying up seeds or other gardening chores after a GA video!

My DH got me a greenhouse for our 25th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, it's not set up yet, due to a series of health challenges, that I went through shortly after I received it. We're planning to get it set up this Spring. 😀

Laura don't worry about the olive tree! It needs to be pruned . Here in Portugal we cut them back hard each year. They don't like lots of water. We have large fields of them in places that in summer reach 110, 115 F and they do not get a single drop of water for months. What a beautiful Spring you have there!!

Hi Laura! Don't worry about the freesia bulbs they often look like that. They should come up just fine! Mine are just about to bloom (I live in south Greece). Just a small correction, at 10:58 that's the daffodil double mix not the freesia one!

Another thing you can do by pre-sprouting dahlias is to take cuttings for propagation. Sarah Raven has a useful KZbin video showing the process Those aren't freesias, Ken 😉 their fragrance is the best. Also seeing Laura using a plastic tag in every pot...I have moved on to electrical tape for annuals. It's cheap enough and they can't drop off the pot.

Laura is the next purchase another greenhouse to put the figs, lemons maybe blood oranges in during winter? Next will be a container tree area for summer growing trees you can’t normally. Year before last, I tried to grow freesias outside, but I think we are too wet here in upstate NY, so I only got a little foliage. I brought the pot in the house for the winter and put it under the grow lights, watering it only once in a while. After a few months, I started catching a whiff of something really sweet smelling and following my nose, I found freesia blooms! I bet they would do great in your greenhouse. I used to grow them outside in California, so maybe like it more dry.

15 bulbs in a pot are fine! I leave my freesias in their pot when they die back naturally outside, removing spent foliage. Bring in the pot in late autumn and place in a cool sunny location - I leave mine in an unheated sun room a lot like yours and every year they regrow and bloom like crazy in early February without any further effort from me! The scent is *heavenly* and the flowers are gorgeous inside the house or greenhouse when other winter bloomers are seldom as scented - these will bloom well before most hyacinths. If you want them for outside growth in spring you can lift and store like dahlias, but their earlier spring bloom cycle makes that more laborious than sheltering in pots in a dark location and bringing into sun when ready to start (they seem fine with some crowding and since it's just grassy leaves the rest of the reason I tuck in an annual after the blooms are done.) Hope you enjoy- those are a gorgeous color!
