I keep coming back to this video to rewatch! I just received the paper catalogue from BC Greenhouse. I am in Toronto (Canada). You are even further east than us - and had the entire US market to choose from, so am intrigued that you chose the BC company. I assume that you did alot of research before you chose them? I have been searching more locally but BCG really seems to be phenomenal. Do you find 8x10 to be an adequate size, given the scope/size of your garden? Thank you for this fantastic video.

This is so nice! Definitely extensive research for months before deciding. For me, I did not want a “she shed” I didn’t just want some cute shed without purpose or function. I wanted something that was a true working greenhouse with custom options. Something to withstand our climate. Something we could build ourselves that came ready to assemble. I was looking for form and function. Pretty, but a workhorse. This checked all the boxes. And it was at a comfortable price point when you compare to other iconic brands like Hartley Botanic. Every bit as beautiful, every bit as “real” and functional, but at a much more digestible cost. I think the 8x10 is a perfect size for me. I was going to go for the 8x8 and glad I went a little larger. I feel very comfortable with lots of space, not crammed at all. Tears in my eyes when she said the house was sold!!! Linda, you said there was that ending but after spending that short time with her, I can't imagine starting over!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT! It's like a dream come true to see your joy and excitement. I know how I would feel if it were mine. My garden is not good, as we had drought all summer here in Minn. Even though I watered, its not the same as rain water. Plus I'm adding more shrubs because its too difficult with such large beds I have. I was without a car all summer and when I got one the nurseries just had poor quality plants so I decided to wait until 2022 spring. Blessings to you and your family.

That graceful glass greenhouse is the Piece de Resistance in a lovely setting! What a treat this was. I haven't seen your vids in my youtube stream for months, so lots of plants have filled in, while some have been removed. I loved the shed you removed too. I hope it went to a good home. But the greenhouse is so worth it & you've placed it perfectly! Re the Fig - As I recall, it's in a pot, so could be moved without too much disruption or shock. I don't know if you'll want to but you could keep it in the greenhouse over the winter. Or if you want to plant it, which depends on your zone of course. You mentioned some problems you've had with the fig. It occurred to me the fig might do better out in a more open area - with the best air circulation possible, & I'm assuming a good long day of full sun. Being currently so close to that fence, it's likely getting rain splashed off the fence & may not be able to dry off completely, so mildew issues may enter. I love your eye & plant selections. So, I have no idea what you intend to do with the fig, long term, but if treated like a big Bonsai, you could more easily move it into the greenhouse in the winter for a protected dormancy, & then rolled back out to various locations, as if a favorite piece of large, but still moveable furniture. You could root prune it & keep the canopy pruned & pinched back to stay more compact. The trunk would likely thicken over time. If it would like living in a greenhouse, it might be pruned to fit in there. Otherwise, somewhere along the back fence caught my eye - maybe behind where you've placed a white bistro set, over to the right or left side, like maybe to the right of the garage's back corner, or, to the left of the greenhouse but not too close to it - nor to the fence. You mentioned you were about to do some planting on the back side of the new greenhouse, & my mind jumped to finding a spot for the Fig, while your at it... but not too close to, the back left end of the greenhouse. I like that spot for a large potted plant too. I don't know but feel like the back fence is on the north end of your property. If so, the Fig planted or in a pot in that area, would be lovely there & you could then also see it from the inside of the greenhouse, & the tree, if it is pruned to be about 10' -15' or so, might offer a bit of afternoon or late day shade, in the back left corner of the greenhouse. If you enjoy resting in the greenhouse, a vine on an arbor or a small tree there would provide some shade from the west, at the end of the day. If the Fig needs at least a Zone 7 to survive winters, & you're colder than that, another small tree planted there might be ideal to keep the back of the greenhouse a bit cooler in summer. A small scale white barked Birch, @ 20' or less would be pretty there. If you'd want a spring blooming tree in front of that back fence somewhere, I could see the Sargent's Crabapple, if pruned. I have one - unpruned, & love it. In all these years, it's still beautiful, & problem free. It blooms profusely in the spring with pink tinged white Apple Blossoms and the flowers have the best scent. It can be left on its own & other than planting in a deep hole, amended to a depth of maybe 4', & about 6' wide, with a low blue green shrub, some spring bulbs, & a Palace Purple Huchera, mulched. It was dug deep to provide the best soil I could, including aged compost & manure by the bag, + some rich garden soil to give it a good home in my old, compacted soil lawn. I wanted it to hold lots of rainwater. It has never appeared dry, sick or hungry. It stopped growing in height years ago. It's maybe 20' tall & a bit wider. You've inspired me, once again. Thanks so much for that wonderful excursion into such a lovely landscape - which is like a painting you live within every day. I'll be sharing this & also, I chose "all" notifications so I don't lose track of you again!

Dear Laura, So many of us share your love of being in our own gardens like being in a mini paradise. Yours is definitely that and more! Also love the view you showed from inside looking out! Can't wait to see it lit up at night! Will you be putting a construction video together from how you and Mark did it all? I was hoping we could see footage of that too! Your Dahlias look beautiful! I only live 45 minutes away and this heavy rain this week is making my dahlias turn brown around flower edges. Don't forget to try leaving IN all your "playin the blues" salvia over the winter. I mulched mine with chopped maple leaves last fall after city them back and 50% of those came back this Spring. 100% of my Black & Blue salvia came back and tripled in area! Great job!
