It's coming along so beautifully! I'm very allergic too, using a surgical mask while gardening in the begining weeks of Spring and Fall have been a game changer. I even found pretty flower design masks 😊

For porous (unglazed) pots you can line them with plastic to help retain moisture. I use old bags. Just don't block the drainage holes. And I've heard of lining pots with bubble wrap to insulate against high heat but I've yet to try it. Being in Texas, I do have to mulch planted pots to keep the soil from doing that thing where it dries and water just runs off instead of being absorbed.

Thanks so much for this update. I've been thinking about you and yours. My only social connection is KZbin so I just check for a new video from time to time 😊. My terra cotta pots I purchased last year thanks to you are coming in handy. I purchased about 15 for my blueberries, grapes and roses. Well, all but one of my five blueberries perished as did my roses(I didn't pot them in a timely manner). So I'll be using the ones I purchased for the roses to grow peppers and tomatoes. Oh and one bottom separated from the rest of the pot😲. Thanks for all you share 💞

Hi great to see the progress. I bought about 8 of those terra cotta pots. I've been going back and forth in my head as to what type of mixture to use.I'm making my own mixture. I have a lot of miracle grow garden soil in the bags, potting soil, compost and vermiculite. Because of your comment I'm thinking of going heavier on the garden soil than I initially thought maybe 50% and the rest the compost and potting soil. The garden soil may retain more of the moisture which in this case might not be a bad idea I don't have drip I'll add the vermiculite too to keep it aerated. I'll let ya know if my plants survive. Happy gardening.
