I didn't know the Inuit arrived so late to Greenland.

The really facinating thing was the recurring migrations into Greenland, many different inuit groups migrated in and succumbed after some 100s of years, most likely do to local climate changes. The local climate in Greenland can change really fast do to the island sizes icesheet. I can't remember exactly but I think it was 5 or 6 migrations over 5-7 thousand years. When the Norse first arrived in the far south, there is evidense of an inuit people in the far north. Both groups slowly traveled and setteled towards the middle at the same time.

Fascinating to quote that very important facts are hidden and remain mainly unknown . Very strong information about our time.

Very similar to the adverse experiences that indigenous people in the US, Canada, Australia, etc. have all gone through in modern times.

My grandfather was stationed in Greenland during that time but he had nothing to say about it aside from “it was cold”. I wonder what he was involved with. My cousin lived there as a biologist as well.

Nuuk/Godthab could be the second "Cape of Good Hope" after the one in South Africa. "Nuuk" is cape and "Godthab" is good hope.

Greenland would prosper better as a province or territory of Canada over being a Danish territory; there’s lots of shared culture with Nunavut.

Greenland is in North America geographically and in terms of the indigenous peoples, but it's in Europe geopolitically and in a whole number of other ways (e.g. road signs, license plates).

Nice video , reminds me communities in the middle east , that blame colonialism for being poor and undeveloped , wondering if in 100 or 200 years , they will use the same excuse 🤔

@@davesprivateloungecorrect. Only yesterday I watched a Few documentary about how the Spanish colonialists completely destroyed the Inca's in Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador etc and only now, their language is being looked into... I believe there is much more to Greenland we have yet to know. DK/N was never an ok colonial power - actually they are much closer to the very worst....have they learned?? Sadly it doesn't look as if they have...the keep doing "as we've always done"...so, so sad

@@mammasut8280 Hm...not entirely what my research is telling me but, I'll leave that for now....I am in the process of learning that every single original document found in archives etc world wide (about a topic a bit different but not entirely) probably will be attempted dismissed as false by the oldest colonial so, probably also everything about Greenland - wouldn't surprise me the slightest 🥴 Happy New year
