What's weird about the Cheshy toy is I kinda feel like it'd still be sought after purely from a collector's standpoint, since I'm about 90% sure there's basically zero merch for the book it came from otherwise. getting slightly off topic but the weird association with maid outfits as a submissive and sexual concept is obviously not news, but in this context it's very icky and in my opinion i find it incredibly tacky. this is coming from a maid fan; i like the elegance, kindness, hospitality etc. appeal of maids and things like maid cafes (frilly women are cute and admirable for putting so much effort into their rank/uniform) but it has been absolutely run into the ground by cheap polyester maid outfits. the connotations of the catboy/femboy/maid outfit is the issue, a normal maid character would be fine. honestly crazy that it was even sold without raising alarms when it was being concept drafted

also oh my actual goodness i am someone who owns the MGE artbooks and it should NOT be referenced in a childrens game. There are a lot of hardcore subjects in MGE in the designs (questionably flat chested characters, designs being paraphilic because obviously) and the conceptual writing for the species (r-word and other unrealistic/unhealthy concepts) . I'm not judging them for liking MGE (I literally own the books) as it's literally an artbook with minimal character descriptions, it's the fact that the dev just felt the need to put their little reference into a childrens game and toy is so creepy and unnecessary and the smug/blushing face is very telling. Adult things should be kept to adult places online. It's way more than "a little inspired".
