Just more proof that Garbage Truck *drivers* are incredibly kind people, but at the same time, the higher up desk people aren't always the greatest.

Well said. I’m just sad this very rare truck had to go out in such a bad way.

I’m a recycling truck driver and assumed he forgot to set the breaks as it’s super easy to get in to a routine where your already half out as your hand reaches for the break switch. But no this was a break failure.

I hope the truck driver wasn’t fired. It’s not his fault. This truck was old, it’s pretty much no ones fault.

It’s a valve in the parking brake system that fails which causes the brakes to release .

They are not the same brake system. They S-cam can fail. Spring brake can fail on base the garbage weight. too many factor. That not a normal brake system. we are taking about Air Brake and Spring brake system. nothing like Hydraulic like normal car.

This is so tragic. That family should be completely compensated for all of the damages. This wasn't their fault in any way and this could have been much more of a nightmare if anyone was harmed.

@@Landis_Grant I'm a driver for a yard in a place you don't need to know. I can assure you, that's not the safest thing to do. Don't get so beefed and gritty with the Refuse guy, using your own words, you know very well that we don't just wave people down to come talk to us we just don't do that especially if the truck is left hand drive. I'd suggest you become a garbage collected like me and burn your ass off like the poor drive did. And just an FYI, driver was not fired nor scolded by anyone. He still works for the company.

See told ya Mack trucks are poorly built trucks lol. They should have gotten a Peterbilt or freightliner
@jamesp83913 жыл бұрын
No matter what company built the truck, they pretty much all use the same brakes. Bendix, Wabco... but truthfully, all air brakes can be a pain in the rear end. Usually a leaky air line would cause something like this. I’m surprised the spring brakes didn’t do anything. Truck must’ve been too heavy or they failed
@SlyXSkillet3 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing he left it in drive and had the parking brakes applied so there was tension on the brakes then they gave out or something failed he shoulda had it in neutral, the brakes still could have failed for whatever reason but wouldve rolled a lot slower
