that was extremely useful and thorough. I'm wondering could she maybe give just a demonstration of the actual brushing? Like do it all once from start to finish the way she does it on herself? That would be very helpful.

I had a thermogram today and found out that i have congested lymph nodes in my left arm pit.I showed up as this big mass, scary. I had NO idea!! but I am grateful for this knowledge so that I can work on getting this unclogged, improve my health and possibly be preventing a potentially deadly illness i.e. breast cancer. thanks for the demo. everyone consider a thermogram.

I do want to try colonics as well... Just an update. I did dry brushing , a fresh green juice cleanse for 2 weeks, increased my water intake and did a little rebounding ( jumping on a mini trampoline) I did another thermogram about 5 months later.....and my lymph nodes are freely flowing again....carrying cancerous toxins safely out of my body :)

+elizabeth “livefree” barrett - Question on that. Does it matter who does it? I see where Chiropracters can do this also? My insurance says they cover it, but when I called a facility that does them, they said ins co always say they will but never do. Ins Co wants a Wellness code submitted but facility will not use them!!

the pictures need to be done by someone who is certitfied and its even more important that the dr who reads the images has gone thru the certification.....my insurance would not pay at all..but for me even at almost 50yrs old my breasts are still very dense..mammograms just look like a white snow storm..they will not see anything until it is huge..so it is worth the expense to me

Love people complaining that she didn't demonstrate. What should she do? Strip and show everyone on camera? It's not rocket science, the important thing is knowing where the water sheds are and in which direction to brush to drain properly. Pretty sure y'all are smart enough to figure the rest out. I think she's one of the better demonstrators, unlike most that just say "just brush towards your heart!"

Thank you so much for sharing this. The skin brushing I was doing (strokes toward the heart) seemed to be doing more harm than good, so I had switched to warm then cold water a few times in the shower to increase circulation. I am happy to skin brush in the way you have taught! I hope this will help with lower body edema. I had painful fluid build-up with swollen glands on the back of my head over an injury site. I took ACV a few times on those days and it drained quickly, but not on the legs.

@sugarfreeraw For the neck, after you open at the collar bone you will start under the chin (keeping right & left seperate,remember the watershed) and brush under jaw to the ear up behind ear to the hair line, then straight down to the collar bone, making a big #7 motion. Do each motion 3 times. Then a shorter #7 motion from under chin to edge of jaw bone, then down to collar bone. Next under chin stright down to collar bone catching all of the front of the throat parallel with watershed.

@LastbutNotFirst9 жыл бұрын
honeyb162 turmeric, colloidal silver, organic apple cider vinegar with the mother. fibromyalgia = word for a bunch of things they cant pinpoint. colloidal silver 1oz a day. 30ppm. best absorbtion is under the tounge, so dont swallow quickly. also manuka honey is very good too. but colloidal silver will work the best even by itself. also go buy some cold pressed castor oil. put it on a warm cloth heat pack and put it right over your liver for like an hour, or compress. wrap in siran wrap with the cloth over night. detoxes your liver. - krill fish oil is good too but expensive. purityproducts.com is on the radio in the am on 6:30am, you can get a 40 dollar bottle of pills for like 4.95 once, then cancel sub.. but purity products is awesome. i spent around 1200 on vitamins and supplments for a 6 months supply it worked awesome, but way too expensive..(now i spend like 20 a month on basic stuff i listed) and it did more for me than any doctors. its taken me about 8 years to get better. so all this im sharing with you. works. just takes time and a good regime.

@RainbowLogic My reference to allowing the lotions and oils to absorb is just for timing with the dry skin brushing. Ideal is before your shower in the morning, before the moisture and lotions are applied. You won't achieve the optimal results found with brushing when the skin is wet, so that was why I suggested brushing at night if a morning routine isn't possible. You will be working to enhance what your body does naturally with skin brushing, natural body oils are perfect no worries there :)

At about 10:50 she says "you want to have the day go by and have those absorbed in" The discussion was about lotions and oils etc.. and not using them, so am I assuming correctly that she is referring to the bodies own natural oils being absorbed? I know that vitamin D is something that the body produces on to the surface of the skin and needs time to be absorbed rather than showered and off.

I usually shower post work out. By then I am sweaty and my skin is damp from sweat. She mentioned that you should do it when you have dry skin before a shower. Could I do it before my exercising, while I am still dry? or do it at another time all together?
@arinavaantje62969 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem and I wipe my body with a wet cloth let it dry and dry brush afterwards. Or I do it before I sport
@aslansalive9 жыл бұрын
lovesweetstach You can do it any time, so long as the skin is dry. It's preferred to do it in the morning, that way your system has time to process the junk for elimination. Prior to a shower is recommended because you can then rinse off all the loosened dead skin, and most of us take warm/hot showers, so that will increase circulation for more effective elimination as well. Prior to exercise is tricky, because the stresses of a workout produce their own byproducts that your body must eliminate too... it could be stressful to some people's systems at first. I'd say a couple hours before exercise, or post exercise, even if it may mean not getting the shower after dry brushing. More important is making sure to drink water afterward! Do that, and you should be fine.
@BrandiOwensRNCLT8 жыл бұрын
+lovesweetstach Hello, my apologies on such a late reply. I am getting a website put together, dryskinbrushing101.com and looking through questions to put on the FAQ page. This is my answer for you: Yes, absolutely do it before you exercise and get sweaty. The reason for this is so that you get all of the wonderful skin benefits that brushing properly can give you. When the skin is moist or damp it won't respond as well to the stimulation from the brush, so it will be difficult to improve tone and texture of the skin this way. The alternative to brushing before your workout is to brush before bed, although some say the brushing is more energising than coffee in the morning, so you'll have to see for yourself when will be the best time for you. And now that I read the comment below I want to add to it for you. Prior to exercise is a good thing, just as prior to sauna is a good thing. The reason is from a space standpoint. If you look at the lymphatic system as a whole, you will see tissue that is full, and vessels that are full. Brushing increases movement and allows those vessels to empty and move more from the tissue through as you brush... which before exercise is a good thing. Therefore movement is already happening after you brush which should translate in more movement of fluid and toxins as you move your body. What you will accomplish is a greater clearing of your tissues and lymphatic system, and ultimately you should see faster recovery times and less issues with lactic acid build up after a strenuous work out. The number one thing I tell my patients after working with them besides hydration, is that movement will improve the results of the therapy (Electro Lymphatic Therapy). Bottom line, definitely brush and move.

+BrandiOwensRNCLT I have been following your way and I feel completely new and healthy just after dry brushing, it's amazing! But what about the upper back? Sometimes I create sweeps that go vertical to over the shoulder then down to the clavicle in the front.. I'm not sure if it's an acceptable way to do it!?
@BrandiOwensRNCLT8 жыл бұрын
+Silvia Fahmy Thank you for the feedback!! For the upper back we need to be aware of where those watersheds are. So the way you are describing, we can use that stroke for the area of the back that is above the shoulder blades, but no lower than that. This is the reason that I suggest that you not use a long handled brush. So to clarify, you will brush the back of the neck straight down and then when reaching the top of the shoulders or trapezius muscle, you will bring over the front to the clavicle. You will continue to bring that upper shoulder area over the front to the clavicle. Everything from below the shoulder blade to the lower horizontal watershed will be brushed to the armpit, so when at the shoulder blade area it will be alomost a straight horizontal move from spine to armpit making sure you always follow through and carry each sweep up into the drain at the top of the armpit. I hope this helps. Check back in a week or two, I am getting a website together called dryskinbrushing101.com that will have new demonsrtation videos. It should be live very soon. Thank you again for your support.

Hi Green Smoothie Girl. I watched this video at least 10 times and there is something that I need to be more clear on since it was quite an important matter. The under arm lymph where, (as she said), lymph collects. When brushing down the inside of the arm to the underarm, she said to stop at the armpit. But, when brushing up from the stomach and breast, she cautioned about leaving it there (in the armpit) and brushed up and over the armpit. So, does the underarm lymph system drain upwards? And therefore, it is best to brush up and over it? Thanks for your help. Just don't want to add to the problem of lymph collection by not understanding this.

Hello, my apologies to everyone, there used to be a link for you to ask you questions directly to me. I'm not sure where it went, but since this isn't my channel I am not notified of posts. I will be launching a website soon and will post it here when it is up and running. For the armpit. The drain is at the top of the armpit, so that crease area at the top of where the hair grows. You brush the arm down to that line and the upper abdomen and chest up over the armpit to stop at that line. So yes, the armpit drains upwards to the top. The caution is to not leave it in the armpit as it will collect there and affect how the breast drains. Brandi

I would love a more detailed diagram or video. Clarification on the armpit ~ when dry brushing up the arm, towards the armpit, stop brushing before the armpit. When brushing the breast/mid section, brush upwards over the armpit several times?

Shall we brush left and right side of the body just in the same way? Starting from right collarbone, doing the circle motion from the center to the outside, and then come to the left collarbone do the same? Does it matter from which side we start? Should massage mirror parts of the body, OR the entire left side of the first and then the whole right?

This is fascinatingly specific, but I find it hard to follow. I feel like I need a chart or diagram. Is there a specific order to follow with which areas to start and end with?

@gracecathlyn My apologies for the delay in response here... it would absolutely be ok to brush the face, or any area of the body that has been damaged by steroid use. What you would actually be doing is repairing the skin, creating an increase in elastin and collagen production restoring tone and texture to the skin. Paper thin skin can be restored to the tone and texture of normal skin. Please look to the above comment for directions as there are many watersheds directing lymph flow.

@BrandiOwensRNCLT Would you consider doing a full brushing video follow up to this? I try to follow it and your comments, but I get a bit confused.
