great vid..best stage by stage video... do you compact laying bed sand just after screeding or do you just screed the bed, then lay blocks......then compact? ive been told to screed before laying,,,,if thats the case do you still set it out for 5mm above ffs if bed has already been comapcted....never seem to get an answer on this...thanks

I compact before and after Buddy

almost everyone does this stage wrong. before sweeping in the Kiln dried sand you should pass the whacker plate over the area of laid paving, this then ensure that the bedding sand comes up between the blocks at the bottom portion and creates an aggregate lock at the base of the paving. then apply the KDS. job done, I was taught this in the 1970's. this is the correct way. cheers.

Can I ask a question how do you ensure the washed grit / sharp sand stays damp as it comes delivered especially in summer , very dry

Nice tutorial one question do you add any cement to the sharp sand? yours looks quite dark, novice DIYer
@GreentopLandscapes Жыл бұрын
No cement it’s a flexible driveway system, sand can look very different in some areas
