For all you lads watching notice us lads over here in Northern Ireland don't use screed rails as they are only for fellas that don't know how to screed, tobermore products are great and acheson and glover, should cover more work over here we are the dogs bollicks if I do say so myself 👍

"International Skill Builder" coming to a country near you...Excellent work Rodger/Skill Builder looks like a pucker job well-done lads...Remember finishing my second house and thinking how I am going to fix this garden the ground is as hard a nails up and down like pigs breakfast. You may know how a garden is after the house build there is everything in the ground. Across the road, some ground workers were starting to layout for new housing development. Saturday morning went across for a chat with the groundworkers asking if they would be interested in a shift to put my garden right. They were Irish Lads No problem they said where are you? Just across the road, I said before I could say another word 6 Irish lads were on a small digger /dumper with spades/ shovels picks coming with me to my house. They took down a part of the Fence and in they went like a whirlwind it took them about 6 hours to level the Garden bring in topsoil and lay a patio. Great lads amazing workers. Paid them well wife put on a barbeque invited them back over. The next day bought 6 boxes of beer and dropped them off the next day...Well done one and all.

It’s weird that you kept mentioning “laying the paving on dabs” even if they need to be laid on mortar you never ever ever lay on dabs, it’s old school and the slabs will be rocking in no time, ALWAYS lay slabs on a full bed of mortar.
@SkillBuilder
@SkillBuilder 3 жыл бұрын
I laid my patio 20 years ago on dabs and it is fine. I think if you put down a lot of dabs and tap it down you have what is essentially 80% coverage of the back. I would agree that 5 dabs is not good enough
@todddillonlandscapes792
@todddillonlandscapes792 3 жыл бұрын
@@SkillBuilder I didn’t mean for it to sound rude, we are just looked down on for that in our industry, any kind of voids under the slabs isn’t good cuz this aids freeze and there and can de laminate the slab from the mortar, I’d be interested to see a video on this from you, maybe lay 2 slabs and do a comparison...

Well done lads... I could have done with your skills over here in Canada when I had my Landscaping Company. That was 40 odd years ago when we were laying this type of Interlocking Pavers rather than the much heavier paving slabs. I am paying for all the heavy work I did then out in all kinds of weather, extreme heat and cold has played havoc with my joints, knee replacements, Rotator cuff repairs and 2 years ago had my right shoulder replaced. Hope the Boss is paying you good money for your expertise and hard work.... Great teamwork you all work well together.
