Greenwich Tea Burning-DESTINATION ANYWHERE

Most fans of American history know about the Boston Tea Party. However, Boston wasn't the only place that tea took it off the chin at the hands of the colonists. On this episode of Destination Anywhere, we explore the trouble the tea tax caused in the British colonies in the 1770s as well as the site of one of the lesser known instances of tea destruction in Greenwich TWP, NJ.

I grew up in Greenwich and heard about it regularly. My grandmother attended the dedication of the monument. I participated in the 50th anniversary of the monument.

I literally live on that road and my grandfather who used to work for the county (Cumberland county) actually helped put up those plaques at the tea burner memorial
