haven't seen Greg interviewed before, this is epic for me, the LP of Hard Light has just landed at my house, I think I got 249 of 250. Their music has had a profound effect on my life, I have covered my aquarium many times live, an amazing band. Thank you for this

Wonderful interview! Thanks for the insight behind all of the songs. I must say that "T" is definitely my favourite and I love the explanation of the outro. For me, it puts me in a state where I'm on a large body of water, kinda like an ocean and there's only gentle waves. That steady rising up and down of the guitars. I have both the digital and vinyl copies of this album, and when I'm working away in my garage, I'll listen to the whole album but when it comes to "T", I stop what I'm doing, I'll walk over to my music player (MP3) and hit repeat... I'll spend the rest of the afternoon listening to that.

Great interview-I remember the press calling them 'the american Slowdive'..Saw them live in the 90's in London(wonder if Greg can remember who was the support band, for the life of me I can't remember-The Cranes maybe?)..T is the best track on the album, the outro is what we all want from a Drop Nineteens album..Hopefully we can get onto Delaware and Greg's thought on National Coma

For me, I'm really enthusiastic about the "Mayfield" demos being officially released. That was Drop Nineteens carrying a more ethereal sound. Like Greg said, by 'Delaware' they were already pulling back from Shoegaze.

I got a Boston band compilation CD back in 99 or so and there was this song Randy Bean by some band Fidel. No info on them but I've been fairly obsessed with the song for over two decades. Nice to see the person behind the song.

Kinda wanted to hear the rest of what Greg was saying about Ivo's obsession with the Delaware cover

Thank you. My jaw *dropped* at that interruption. Just awful.

It’s sad that this revival doesn’t seem to have created the same interest as when Slowdive got back together. I thought “shoegaze” now had quite a big following. There’s no accounting for taste I guess.

breather nice goes to show you were fully influenced by Chapterhouse 👌

Drop Nineteens supported Chapterhouse when they came over to the UK. We are not fully influenced by Chapterhouse. Partly I would say.

Tho it sucks I'll never get to see him play Randy Bean with band or solo I imagine the Fidel stuff is long forgotten. Such a great song. And yes I know I'm backwards.
