I sometimes use the declink family to develop cloud video encoders these days. Thanks for the good explanation Greg.

Nice, Keep up the good work, somehow BMD Device has no existence in Media Source for M1 user (with Expansion box) (lol).

Can this product's HDMI 2.1 also be used with VRR?
@GregCorson5 ай бұрын
I honestly don't know, it's not mentioned in any of Blackmagic's tech data. I'd suggest contacting BlackMagic design's support staff on their website.

Does anyone know if this could work with an enclosure?? Like the sonnet Echo Express SEIIIe??

Does this newer revision still have a noisy/ticking fan sound? I've tried replacing the fan on the Gen 1 version of this card and even the new fan still makes the noisy constant ticking sound.

I have not noticed any fan noise from this, my system is in a high airflow case and is extremely quiet. This replaced my AJA Kona-HDMI which was the noisiest thing in the room!

@@GregCorson Nice. Yeah the system my Gen 1 card lives in has some loud fans at time as it is in a rack mount case inside of an AV rack. I didn’t notice the noise until I removed the card and installed it in a thunderbolt expansion chassis for easier travel use. Anyway, the Gen 1 card has gone back into the rack mount machine that lives in my studio and I have the Gen 2 card on the way to go in the mobile Thunderbolt travel enclosure. Keeping my fingers crossed it’s nice and quiet.

Thanks for sharing, what is the version of the Desktop video setup? As I'm not able to be found the video input selection, checked with versions 14.2, 14.1 &14.0. Any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks

I was using 14.0.1 at the time I did this. Also I believe that the menus sometimes change if there is no active video source connected to the port.

Amazing, thank you! Can it record and monitor simultaneously through HDMI in and HDMI out?
@GregCorson6 ай бұрын
This setup is bringing in the camera video on SDI3, compositing it live with the CG animation in unreal and then unreal outputs the video to HDMI1 where my Ninja V recorder to record it. You could also record the output from your video card's HDMI output but the Blackmagic card supports more high quality video formats than most video cards do. I have tested bringing camera video in through the HDMI which also works. I'm not sure about what comes out the HDMI output port in this setup, I will have to try it. My guess is that you can't input and output at the same time, or that the output is just a copy of the input.

I figured out that to record HDMI and simultaneously output via HDMI then need to change the Connector mapping of DecLink 8K Pro(1) to the 3rd option in the down “SDI 1 In, SDI 2 Out”. This then works as follows If the output not being used (eg u didn’t start an Output in OBS) then the input HDMI video is mirrored on the output HDMI port But as soon as you start using the Output in OBS then this appears on the output HDMI - whilst as same time the HDMI input is also working as expected!

Hi there. Can this card do a total of 5 I/O simultaneously?
@GregCorson4 ай бұрын
I haven't tested it but I think it is only 4, I think the HDMI and SDI 1 are shared

can you remove the daughter card?

Yes, it is not required unless you want the HDMI in and out.

8k hdmı in?
@GregCorson3 ай бұрын
The documentation isn't real specific on this and I don't have an 8K source to test with. However the specs on the BlackMagic site do show 8k HDMI as supported though they don't specifically say input/output or whatever. When I get an 8k source to test I'll try it, but that will probably be awhile.
@serhancoskun9213 ай бұрын
@@GregCorson We tried it and it plays 8k 30hz but it doesn't look very healthy.
