Hello Marcel, I have built beds for loading lengthwise. I made one just recently for carrying up to 150 inches of "vehicle". The 2 door Jeep is about 18 inches longer. We can make a bed for a Jeep, but I haven't made a video that shows a Jeep driving up the ramps yet. But, you can watch this video that shows how we can load a Jeep (or car) lengthwise on a bed. LOADING LENGTHWISE DEMO VIDEO : kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIXNY2WwnquWfNE Thanks for the question Marcel. Here are some things to consider in your "loading at an angle" idea. Note that you will need to setup and take-down a few hundred pounds of supports and ramps at each load and unload. I know a couple that load a Suzuki in exactly the manner you have described. They are quite practiced, and take approximately 1.0 hour in total to load. The unload is 35 minutes. There is quite a structure that needs to be engineered. The structure of winch, ramps and supports has to be quite substantial, so the weights are quite high. I would also note that the length “savings” is not that much. I am going to use the numbers of a shorter Jeep. It saves us a few inches. Loading a 118” long vehicle at 43 degrees results in a deck “used” space of 87”. Let's do some math, and meet my friend Pythagoras who first wrote this equation. We shorten our load length by 31”. To load a 12 foot long vehicle into a 6 foot long space (what the Smartie occupies) you almost have to load the 12 foot vehicle close to vertical. We can also run out of height pretty quick as the max overall vehicle height is 13 feet 6 inches. I have 7 feet of vertical height to work with between the deck height and the 13'6" height. Gregg

I have a Comfort ride hitch on my RV hauler and I love it ,, it's easy to use and very foolproof ,andhas a nice ride when heavily loaded ,,I needed a hitch with a high load rating because my trailer weighs in excess of 25,000 pounds although it only has 5000# of tongue weight even fully loaded ,,that is due to my trailer having 4 axles ,and having been balanced to pull with a pickup truck , which is what I intended to use before i discovered how heavy i had made it ,,even with a 28000# gross weight the wheel loading is very light with less than 1500# on any wheel due to my use of 10K dexter dual wheel axles ,meaning I have 16 tires load range D are more than adequate but i used F range 16 ply tires for durability

+Dominick Landolfi Hello Dominick! Wow, you have an eagle eye! That is an aftermarket switch that controlled some light beacons that we took off. The new owner is going to take care of removing that switch and the left-over unnecessary wiring that remains.

lol, also was wondering about the MACK radio in the cab. I know that Volvo owns MACK, but did that come with the truck?

+Paul Otis Hi Paul. You noticed a neat little "trick". If your Volvo stereo ever quits, the Mack stereos fit and work! If you are at a dealership, and they don't have the Volvo stereo in stock, the Mack will do! I suspect that was the case at some time in the past with this particular truck. Driving days without tunes is not fun.

Yes, we name them because when we are working on more than one, it is faster to just have a "name" rather than referring to the " white Volvo " - " no that other white volvo" - no, I was referring to that other "white volvo, you know the one". Also, these RVHaulers are kinda like our "babies". They are all unique, and take on a bit of a life of their own.
