Funny that happened but I ended up chatting with him and his father after that for like 10 minutes. It was very cool!

That's awesome having Mitch poke around your build..... Had to be a proud poppa moment for you. I have talked with Mitch a handful of times over the years, enough to know that he truly is a fellow gearhead. Great job on the build. 👍

@@GregHitchko idk how that works but your bikes not going to be in Arlington right? Do they just get local people for those or do they travel with supercross ?
@GregHitchko
@GregHitchko 9 ай бұрын
@@barkeep25 they have a truck that travels to all the rounds with a main crew of bikes. Then they get local people wherever they are going. No Arlington for me this year but would love to make it happen next!

crazy how the manufacturers still can't see everyone prefers 2 strokes and MX/SX was far better back then
@ZULUXXXMAUI
@ZULUXXXMAUI 9 ай бұрын
I don’t agree with that statement. Don’t get me wrong, I love riding my 2 smoker, but I the average Joe would prefer a 4 stroke.
@GregHitchko
@GregHitchko 9 ай бұрын
There is certainly a large part of the sport where people only have the 2 strokes still. It'd be cool to have a class race again for sure
@zook_291

Untrue, I’d rather ride my 250F because of all of the luxuries that comes with it, but I like riding my 125 once in awhile because of how light and how it makes me work harder to keep up. I also love how I can be careless with the throttle and keep it wound all the time.
@krs5259

yep its easier to ride a 4 stroke so i undertstand why @@zook_291

And that is exactly why I like the “vintage” races. Those late late 80s through early 2000s bikes were the best. I prefer the original bikes vs team bikes but they are just the best. 89-90 CRs, 89-92 RMs, 91-92 YZs, 90-92 KXs, 92-96 CRs, 03-07 RMs, 03+ CRs.

Sooo many epic models during those years. I could just drool over them all day. Wish they'd bring some more radness to today's bikes like they did back then with the designs, etc

@@GregHitchko dude! 100%. The best styled bike right now IMO is the dam suzuki. The body lines of that bike are absolutely amazing. Don't get me wrong there are lots of nice bikes but stylistically they are with the zukes.

Bike looks great Greg. So good to see the old 2 bangers together. There should be a feature class of pre 2k 250 2 strokes at every SMX round.
@GregHitchko
@GregHitchko 9 ай бұрын
That's what I'm saying!! How rad would that be, just do like a 5 minute intermission 2 stroke race. Or bring it back at the nationals like they did with the 125 dream races. I caught one of those at Washougal in 2019 I think it was and RV raced it. Super cool!
@mmazz30

@GregHitchko I'm not up to speed with what/how many classes are at each SMX rounds, I just catch up on KZbin here on Australia. Do the pro 85cc class run at any of these events? If not, that is crazy. They should be run and shown in front of their adult hero's to build the sport back up like it used to be.
