Interesting video. I think a lot of people needed this. Long story short I am switching careers and going into Data Analysis and Data Science. Trust me, I am very skeptical, and have put a lot of thought into this. I want to make sure I am making the right decision. I have come to basically the same conclusions as you with a few caveats... Data Analysis ( pulling, preparing, some analysis, display of data) will become much more streamlined and require fewer people, and performed faster. But you still NEED to know the core skills, just not be an expert at it. Salaries will go down some, but more applications will be found needing more people so salaries will be somewhat stabilized. ( Microsoft Fabric is one streamlined application but will not be applicable in all situations.) Data Science ( less Data Analysis and more algorithms and machine learning) will be more streamlined also but less so. The people doing Data Analysis will be able to move QUICKER into Machine Learning skills and experience, and companies will like or request it. So higher salaries will be supported somewhat. (Microsoft Fabric again) This is still a high-growth field in terms of applications ( think IOT). That is not going away I think for a long time. If generative AI streamlines work in Data Analysis and Data Science, that leaves much more time to learn new skills like Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Cloud Tech, etc.

ChatGPT can't plan and reason, so it can't be an engineer. Also its not more clever than people, so it can't fully replace jobs. Clever is harder, engineer is easier i think,

Yeah but in 10 years ( maybe 3 years? LOL) ChatGPT will be able to plan and reason. But it will still need a "conductor" so you still need to learn all the skills.

I don't have a clue i don't think scientists know also when this will happen, but AI doesn't scare me , capitalism does, without capitalism we could let AI do only things we cant or don't want to do, but capitalism will push AI everywhere, so we need to stop voting it, and all those worries will go away.
@waynelast1685 Жыл бұрын
@@wdeath true. I what you’re saying I think is AI may not be bad, but the way people use AI is bad. There’s a lot of truth in that statement. For example, the people who control the large language models filter out information that they don’t like. So who’s to say what they don’t like or like? For example open AI is controlled by Microsoft, and Microsoft is a liberal minded company, so I know they are filtering out any conservative information that doesn’t agree with their liberal agenda. I can already see it in the type of news stories that show up in Microsoft edge. Definitely, there is a left leaning angle there, and not hardly any conservative minded stories.
