Hey Greg :3 I've been taking the data analyst path for sometime now and realized that I'm in love with SQL and feel more fascinated by coding and debugging. How should I go about transitioning to a more Backend Dev background with the Data analysis exposure I already have? Or would I have to simply start over from the ground up to better suit my interests?

So as someone who eventually one day wants to work in data science industry, is there an entry level job role that one can apply as a starting point and just get promoted/ level up to a data science in time rather than just trying to apply for a data science position from the get go? I dont mind starting at the bottom and working my way up the ladder.
@sr-xd8jb Жыл бұрын
Try for data analyst role. You need Excel, Tableau/PowerBi and SQL. You can get this job in 3 months. After getting your first job start learning Python and prepare the skills needed for data engineering job. You can switch to DE after 1-1.5 years of experience.
@vectoralphaSec Жыл бұрын

@@vectoralphaSec In Linux and UNIX based systems, there is Libreoffice. But I don‘t know whether it is as „good“ as or equivalent to the Microsoft stuff. Hello, I'm from Bangladesh. My question, can a data analyst work as a software engineer?
@phoenixflower12252 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg - I'm a CPA in accounting tussling to move between data analytics or software engineering. I was being told that my background would logically fit to a transition in data analytics. But i'm not sure since i'm more of a creative type but also like detective stuff (like finding stuff via evidence) so I'm not sure.... what would you suggest a good path to figure this out is?. What's the growth potential comparing both - could you offer any insights into that. Awesome video - Thank you!!

Growth potential for both is plenty. I do feel like your skillset would translate quicker to analytics, but I encourage you to do whatever you feel is the best choice 😃

I'm majoring in Computer Science as an undergraduate and I have to decide on specializing in Software Development or in Administration, Management and Exploitation of Data. I really like coding, but I found out in school that I'm actually pretty good in SQL. Working in data interests me a lot and I'm interested in Data Science, however, I don't know which specialty would work best for me. I heard that most jobs in Data Science and Data Architecture prefers people with Masters or Doctorate degrees. I know that I don't want to pursue a Master's degree after finishing my Bachelor's degree. Is there any advice that you could tell me to help me decide on which specialty to chose? It's so hard when I'm interested in both.

Why do you find back end boring?
@Norono Жыл бұрын

@BulbasaurLeaves Жыл бұрын
In my experience, quality assurance is very high pressure. If you end up at the wrong company, you can end up being more or less forced to approve software you don't have time to test. Then, you're the scapegoat when the customer inevitably runs into serious bugs.
