I don't know how it works, but every time I watch your podcast, I come up with my own startup ideas and write down at least a few of them. Thank you for what you do, and greetings from Russia! :)

Idea 1 sounds exactly what I would describe if someone asked me what a tarpit idea was
@victormustin2547Ай бұрын
No monetization, no recurring usage, no network effect, no incentive for creators to populate the app with content, no added value vs ig/tiktok + the fact that variations of that app have been made hundreds of time and never got anywhere close pmf.
@victormustin2547Ай бұрын
No way he went with the location sharing app as second pick, this man is the tarpit machine. This shit has been tried 1000's of times (I could list maybe 10 of them, the most recent by amo paris) and never works.

I spent half a decade building that micro social media and trust me it’s fire. It can be as big as TikTok honestly. Couldn’t get VC money because they think anything in space is high risk for a joke or you know somebody. But we plan to have it finally released in 2025.

Would’ve preferred if he gave B2B ideas since that’s what he excelled at Most of these consumer ideas have been tried by many & are mainly Tarpit ideas

No mention of Lonely Planet guides for the 1st idea. Funnest way to travel pre-smart phone. There value was in the curation and personal reviews of places

LMAO. Literally was told to watch this because I'm working on something strangely similar. Little did I know, it would be the very first thing talked about. Lol! I have been working on Kick It for 8 years, and only recently decided to learn to "code" to develop it...

Idea 1 is cool, but can it hit big numbers? 99 cents to unlock more coffee shops and stuff like that doesn't sound very profitable

I think there was a bunch of litigation involved, but I always enjoy seeing people recommend startups that have already existed - sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You just need to do it better than the last.
