Really enjoyed this episode, I love your normal highly produced gear demos but hearing you talk a little more informally is very interesting too. I think perhaps there is a bit much of the acoustics of the bass coming through the mics while you're playing? Perhaps gating or compressing the mic audio with the direct recording could help. Very jealous of the Ampeg Sub Blaster.

I think you should combine your formal demos with guest players with this more informal/adlibbed commentary. It’s nice to see both performance demos and how to sit down and think about how to approach the new in combination with what you already have. It’s how I ended up adding the Mini Jive to my YYZ. But I think I’m going to put it in front instead of behind. Great job as usual.

Great board and very dynamic possibilities! I understand I'm about a year late, but I'm inquisitive about why no compressor pedal? My main reason is that many bassists say they have one that is always on OR they despise them and that compressors can be a "crutch" for technique. I was hoping you might enlighten us about your thoughts on the subject of compression as you have/have not needed it in your career. Thank you!

Cheers Gregor for sharing your unique & very creative OCD. Gotta say The Ampeg & jive combo. Seriously? Its stank face eargasmotron territory! WooHoo I LIKE IT! 🤩 For me the tone weapon sleeper is the Rheingold. Like Noble or Vermuran the Stradivarius of pedal tone nicersisers. Expensive? Yes in comparison to lesser pedals. But relative to the above top tier of the tone heap not that bad. The relentless pursuit of THAT tone is a seriously addictive drug Thanks to class acts like the wetter bass & your team. I'm now a shameless tone slut junky. I might check out pov stricken & peniless. But as long as my bass rig gives GREAT tone. I will die happy! Thanks Bass The World!

Nice tea pot! Is that a cast iron pot? Kindly remind, if so, use it to boil water and pour the water into another teapot (Ike ceramic) to make tea. Don't make tea inside a cast iron pot directly. At least we seldom do it in China and Japan.
@basstheworldofficial3 жыл бұрын
Interesting, never heard of that. Yes it’s cast iron and I use it every day
@pktang30863 жыл бұрын
@@basstheworldofficial argh then better change the habit. As the tannic acid inside the tea leaves react with the iron ions of the teapot in high temperature. Best scenario: speedup the rusting of the teapot and you drink the rusted iron. Worst scenario: tannic acid react with iron sulfate (depends on the tech they use when casting the teapot) to become iron gall ink (Google it), and you drank the ink.... In both cases you will make the tea look darker than they should be. So, please use the cast iron to boil the water. And pour it into another teapot to make the tea. It is believed that boiling water with cast iron pot will make the tea softer (which I haven't tested it, but my family believe in this. Oh, I didn't mentioned my grandfather and uncles sold tea for a century in China. ). And softer water is good for making heavily fermented tea, such as most of the western tea (Earl grey, black tea or breakfast tea, or the Chinese dark Pu-erh), as soft water helps the tea to dissolve better and taste less bitter. I was born in Hong Kong and live in a family that drink tea more than water for 38 years. Thank you or giving me so much info on basses. In return I would be more than happy to share useful info on tea for your reference. Cheers

Not elitest at all friend. A guy I used to work with was in a local band and I set up his guitar rig to get in shows for free. He had me come to practice to learn to use his rack tuner. He told me people pay to have a good time so it is only right to make sure your tuning is perfect. That stuck and I don't care if I'm playing to a click track or a bird singing outside, I want the tuning and intonation as close to perfect as possible.
