Im sure Adam Savage inadvertently sold a lot of haimer gauges with his video. Hell, I don't even own a mill and I want one!

It's a very cool tool. You should definitely get a mill so you can have one.

Get an ER collet and ditch the R8 collet. Then you have a precision for Height offset too. 🤑

I used to have ER's for the Rockwells horizontal but haven't looked into it for the Bridgeport. Maybe I will if I get a horizontal head.

Genius tool. Though come on...Inches wtf. Get moving

Eventually the rest of the world will come around to inches. Sure, base 10 is easy but what sort of fun is that? Where are your FRACTIONS?!? No where, that's where. It may seem like we're behind but that's only because we're being metaphorically lapped.

It's not so simple as the convenience of division/multiplication by 10. Just ask carpenters (especially framers) and woodworkers about flexibility in subdividing. You can divide the number 10 by three whole numbers: 1, 2, and 5. You can divide 12 by five whole numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. More factors is always more better, no? I suppose there are certain areas where each system is better, but it mostly it doesn't seem to be worth arguing about. Choose one and get good with it-just beware of switching back and forth, minding the lesson of the 1999 Mars Climate Orbiter.

@@benz-share9058 I joke but I can use both just as easy. I tend to jump back and forth based on the distance; Less than a foot I use mm and in fact use mm for most carpentry. More than 8' I use inches, Machining is mostly in thou. This tool doesn't actually measure so much as indicate so it's units are superfluous.
