One thing I kinda loved about the idea of the huban was that it was a gun designed around slugs, I might of misunderstood that but it seems like they are going another direction :/
@gregorkamensek39233 жыл бұрын
It is hard to say what Huben plan for the future and usually thy move relative slow... I would say that K1 is not that really designed to go to any bigger calibers without redesigning all major components. So they could probably not use same parts (most of them) as they do for .22 and .25. At first glance the newer K1 are more around pellets, because in terms of majority of shooters, that was at the time their biggest flaw. Not only that, in the past, they did not shoot what we now call "standard" slugs well either so they required something that was not off the shelf and thy got a bad reputation because of that. Now I thing they just want that the gun shoots pellets well and the slugs are less concern for them. I have more test to make, maybe I will find a way for the slugs to shoot accurately...

Awesome looking gun! I really love the wood stock. It's a shame they don't include an option to mount a bipod or a strap by default. You can add one but you'll have to through some trial and error finding the right screws and pictanny slingstud adapter rail. They should just include it for a few extra dollars or make it an option. Apart from that, very happy with my .25 Huben though I can't get it to group right with JSB Knock Out slugs. Pellets group okay.

I 3d design my own silencers and they have vent holes at the back, the baffles are designed in a way that the air gets diverted out the back rather than the front. Kind of like a tesla valve. 🤔
@gregorkamensek39233 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree that this design is the best as the air has the longest travel before it exits and loses longitudinal vibrations (sound) in the process, but when you are talking about shroud on the bulpup, this makes those holes quite close to shooters ears and to the shooter, the gun appears louder...
@qg7863 жыл бұрын
@@gregorkamensek3923 I think it depends on the size of the holes at the back, the smaller the hole the higher the pitch. My silencers has 3mm holes at the back to give the air as little resistance as it can. I designed it to be effective for hunters/pest control, to have as little noise going towards the target so that a follow up shot is possible.
@gregorkamensek39233 жыл бұрын
@@qg786 Yes that is right. Huben needs these holes as its shroud volume is very small and without it would be much louder as a large portion of the air would still vent out the muzzle of the shroud. This is the best way to have the volume relatively low and still get good suppression.
@-Ricochet-3 жыл бұрын
Nice review. You forgot to mention that it now lacks the swivel stud (grooves) at the front. At least my .25 SE does. I was planning on mounting a bipod but I'll have to add one my self. And I am surprised by your groups. I found out that mine only shoots relatively accurately above 970FPS with MK2's. Kinda a bummer since that wastes a lot of air without any major gains. 900FPS would have been more appropriate for target shooting. Also, knock-outs are all over the place..
@gregorkamensek39233 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right... Although it is only missing a hole for it. That can easily be made but not sure that people would actually want to do that to this stock... This one is in .22 and I shoot with JSB MR... You are right about .25, the King heavies (mk1 or mk2) do not take velocities above 900 fps well...
@-Ricochet-3 жыл бұрын
@@gregorkamensek3923 On the contrary, my gun does not shoot accurately at velocities BELOW 970 FPS. I know that every barrel is different but that has me baffled (no pun intended). You recommended 130b setting and I tried that but the groups really tighten up when I crank up the pressure to 140-150b. Weird? And according to your previous review of .25 cal the knockouts were performing really well. Have they made some design changes to to SE that would make them perform much worse now? I get dish plate sized groups at 100M. I am still working on a re-shaper so they will sit much more firmly in the mag by enlarging the outer diameter by 0.1mm or so. It is quite a task though. But other suitable slugs are virtually unabtainable in Europe so I feel this would be the best option. Also, immediately after getting the gun I realised that loading was a pain in the butt so I had to make a simple tool to hold down the flexible pellet retainer. When loading by pushing it down, my magazine was full og led shreds. That only made accuracy worse and increased cleaning intervals. I wish there was a latch or a removable cover of some sorts. If anyone is interested I can share the .STL Overall I do like the gun but it has a lot of potential for improvement and I guess I was expecting more at this price point and so many iterations.

@@-Ricochet- EXCACTLY my experience as well. I bought 10 tins of .25 JSB knock outs based on Gregor's review and I can't get them to group right so maybe I have a different barrel than his .25 model. At 75 meters it's 3 inch groups for me if I'm lucky. I really love my december 2020 model Huben K1 but I can't get accuracy out of them with JSB knock out slugs. And like you I'm annoyed by the fact the K1 doesn't come with a means to attach a bipod and sling. You can make it work but it takes some frustrating time. I hope we'll find the right ammo for it one day. I tried JSB pellets. They're a lot better than slugs. I shoot them around 1000fps and haven't tried below 970 yet so I can't confirm your findings.
@-Ricochet-3 жыл бұрын
@@KingHaggis I appreciate the feedback. I do have some plans that may improve things slightly. I am going to polish the barrel with soft high grit cloths working my way up to 8000 grit. There's also one gentleman on KZbin that had great results after cleaning the barrel thoroughly and lubing slugs with silicone grease. I have yet to try that. Not sure he was using JSBs though. But in the end, I belive that resizing them and getting them uniform is the optimal solution regardless of the brand. I would also love to try AVS and Spoton slugs if I ever manage to get hold of some..

I assume you are referring to the state of the new gun when you receive it (at least in Europe). Two things you need to do: There is rubber inside the regulator allen key hole that prevents you inserting allen key in it. You have to remove it to be able to insert allen key and adjust the regulator. Second is the power wheel. The power wheel comes without the round part for indexing (you get this part with the gun, it is round part in a shape of a coin). You have to install that part in the power wheel...

I've measured it use about 50bar or 5Mbar in one shot! Sounds like a 22lr! KE on that shot was about 70 foot pounds. I NEED it up at high power with slugs - preferably. Currently using JSB jumbo beasts at 58 foot pounds with reg at 135 and power wheel around 15 clicks from max. This seems to be the advice for efficiency.
