Probably a contender for the best song of this century, the most poetic song in a long long time.

I think what he is singing about is the stories of truths we are given as children, but we turn away from them as our journey of life goes on.Then suddenly we realize as the sky's fall what really matters and the Truth really matters we remember and at that moment we have come full circle and find Peace in this crazy spinning world and in the Storm

My favorite line as well.
@travelerintraining335310 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity, what are you getting out of this particular line?
@aim44309 жыл бұрын
I think those 2 lines perfectly sum up the entire song and that moment in your life when everything you once "knew", now feels like bullshit.. You're always reaching for the stars and when you realize that youre never going to actually touch one of those stars you lash out. Throw stones, lose your mind. It never works out for you though, throwing stones just makes everything else fall apart all around you. To me, for me, this song is about life. All of its trials and how people handle them and their quest for stability. Those 2 line just sum it all up for me. It could very well be about a drunk man just passing out in a barn but I think this song is literally perfect so I dont want to argue about what it means. Please be respectful if you feel differently about this song.
@davidparsons34328 жыл бұрын
Resistance to what happens is throwing stones at the stars.... a kind of pathos and yet even the smallest gesture or event can trigger a complete collapse of what you thought was true (the whole sky). In this song he is abandoned on his wedding day and the whole world breaks down. But any attempt to examine this song falls short because the song delivers on its own and I ultimately don't really know why I respond to it so strongly, which is why I think it is great I guess.

Gregory displays in this song many wonders. He is soothing, he is magic, he is a warm fireplace, he is home at Christmas, he is pure love. Listen to his voice, feel his lyrics, and know that you too are beautiful, like this man, and like his song.
