Thats the very reason I got rid of the frogg togg jackets. They don't hold up well to any bushwhacking at all. I was going through 2 or 3 sets per summer, they just get shredded. Cool pack, I was checking one of these out last summer.

I managed to get this one through 2 seasons. It helps that it doesn't rain too much in the rockies! What did you switch to for a rain jacket? I've looked at some other options but everything in the ultralight category seems just as fragile.

@@JustinOutdoors i avoided a UL jacket. went with a shell from marmot. I've had rain on pretty much every big trip I've done in the past 2 years. Went through 2 sets last yr.

Thanks for the review! I currently own Gregory’s Optic 48, considering downsize to the Zulu *35*. What do you think about it? The only thing that I don’t like is that the optic is 1.1 kilo and the Zulu is 1.3 although the smaller size.
@JustinOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I'm a little wary of the Optic packs since a hip belt blew out on me and I saw a whole bunch of similar failures out there. For a day pack, the Zulu is awesome!

How does the new suspension system compare to the old dts crossbar suspension system?

Thank you. What waist pack are you wearing?

Hey Michael! That's the Mountain Equipment Co-op Travel Light Hip Pod (www.mec.ca/en/product/5054-172/Travel-Light-Hip-Pod-Small). Size small. It's not my favourite. A bit small, finicky straps, and it would be nice if it had water resistant zippers. It's what I'm using for now. I'd like to get one of the fanny packs from Palante Packs or LightAF, but they cost an arm and a leg to buy and ship to Canada.

@@JustinOutdoors Nice. I'm looking for a modern version of the haversack. Something waterproof that will hold my absolute essentials such as my fire kit, a folding knife, headlamp, compass, whistle, RAT tourniquet, and my phone + battery backup . It is always with me and would survive a deluge or unplanned swim. Thanks for the reply.

Just got mine today. What size did you end of going with?
@JustinOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
I have actually been using an Osprey synchro 12 pack for day trips recently. I've combined that with a 3L fanny pack and it's been working out great!

@@JustinOutdoors Nice. For the Zulu 30, I what size did you go with? Are you still using it?
@JustinOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
@@SidsTips ahhh. I went with the medium/large. I have fairly short arms and legs and a larger than avg torso for my height 😂😂😂
@SidsTips5 жыл бұрын
@@JustinOutdoors That is what I went with. Seems like a nice pack and with needing extra room to carry my portable drone it will be perfect. Glad I came across your video and will follow you as well. Cheers.

Thanks Sid! Really appreciate the follow. It's a really solid pack if you need the volume. Gregory nailed it in this pack category.
