Sea Fishing UK | Westgate on Sea, Thanet, Kent | 2 sessions, Because 1 Wasn't Enough!

I headed towards Westgate on Sea to try a mark that I've never fished before. The first session was bad, but undeterred, I headed back 48hrs Later to try again.

I used to fish off of the pipes Foreness point right at the end . Caught untold bass there and in summer the water was so clear it was like being in the Bahamas . Saw a feeding frenzy there once Bass and mackerel feeding on whitebait never seen anything like it in all my travels .This was years ago and always used to use peeler picked up from the same location . Don't think it's any good now but i have lived in the south of France now for 10 years so can't really say for sure .

People do still fish there and do still pick up bass but they're not guaranteed

Hello mate thought I'd comment on this video as I regularly fish around epple and im getting good hauls of decent size bass here on lures, I head down from the stairs you were at to the sand patch you fish to, then head around towards epple at low tide...they are showing and jumping at the moment too just thought I'd share as it is a good mark of mine if you ever decide to go back.

If you ever get the chance do try to look at daiwa x8 j-braid. Absolutely some amazing line

Braid is a really sticky subject and I think once you find a braid you like, you tend to stick with it. Spiderwire is the best calibrate line out there so when I'm trying to work out how much my spool requires, spiderwires diameter is pretty close. Some are way off like fireline or power Pro. I havent had a. Hance to look at j braid so If I see it in the shops I'll take a look👍

On your braid rod do you have some sort of clip that holds your braid for casting out as I see you don’t use a finger stool ?? Good video loved your magic trick looking forward to more videos. Happy new year to you and the family

I always have a mono leader on a beachcaster so I cast with that between my fingers. You should always use a mono leader when fishing braid on beachcaster because the lack of stretch in braid can exert to much stress on a rod during a powerful cast and snap the blank. Mono gives you and the blank forgiveness and is better all round. Abrasion resistant, softer, stretches, low visibility

@@buckrogers2828 you should never use braid as a leader on beachcaster! The lack of stretch puts too much immediate stress on the rod blank and can break a blank. I build and repair fishing rods, I've seen it a few times

There not actually fishing boots, they're boots for wearing out and about / fashion boots. I obviously gave up on fashion a long time ago🤦‍♂️😂. But they are very warm and very comfortable. Double red is the brand

Over high water you're probably looking at anywhere between 3 - 10ft depending on size of tide. The bass love it over the chalk rocks🐟🐟

@@gsp - No fish?!?! I'm in shock!! How close to the reef did you go?No, I didn't go on Wednesday - I keep wimping out!! I thought of going by the first plinth this morning, but didn't get up until after 9, and I'd want to be there no later than 10, so that didn't happen!! I have 3 score of frozen blacks, squid and mackerel all waiting to be used. I can't believe you blanked in that spot! I look forward to the footage & good luck for the second visit.

I was probably just too far away from the reef, about 200yds right of it. I then went down onto the beach and fished on the rough ground, basically on top of the reef. I had I knock there and that was it. I think it's been tough going this week anywhere along the south Kent coast

@@gsp - Well, that's me done for Winter fishing!! I went earlier today to the first plinth. Had 0 bites, got snagged, lost a freshly-made rig, got very cold and decided that's my last trip until about May!!! It's just way too cold, and going to get colder. It's not fun. I have a new rod on order, which will be here in about 5 weeks. As much as I'll be itching to get out and use it, it'll have to wait!! Anybody fishing in this weather needs their head checking!!!!

Try getting unwoshed quide. The box you have there is clean quide there is no Sent with it. Laleago quide I use.

I always do try but unwashed tends to sell out quicker. Oh and believe me! There's defo scent coming from these squid the amount of times they've been frozen and defrosted! 😂😂😂😂😂
