Very good instructional video, and I've seen quite a few. You make it look so easy. It is NOT easy. I'll keep trying, and maybe after a couple of hundred beer bottle bottoms, I'll be able to make one. Problem is, I've got to find the bottom of a couple of hundred beer bottles. Damn the learning curve!

I find my best materials in old bottle dumps. There's loads of nice bottle bottoms to be had and some are quite large and thick.

Thanx for showing the good looking little arrowhead. Would have liked to see the video a bit longer to show big one finished too.

I’ve been flirting with the idea of doing some knapping. This video has been the best I’ve seen in regards to explaining the terminology. The “platform” was a mystery to me until you explained it. Thanks for a great video.

Hey Ben, Good to "see" you. I started learning a couple months ago from my artifact consultant up the street, who makes beautiful points. My Son gave me a set a paleotools for my birthday and I have made some modern tools, like a copper "bopper" and flaking tool. Still getting the hang of it. I bet you'd be great at it.

Really good video, the larger piece of glass was actually very helpful in explaining platforms, the large platforms on the larger piece of glass were easier to see and easier to point out.

Glass ashtrays would prob be thick enough too. For arrowheads at least might not be large enough for a spear

I've found flakes of chip blue glass at village sites. So yes Native Americans did work glass, but I've found also banned slate and honey quartz.

Black or brown beer bottles also give you cool color/diversity since they are nearly everywhere. Just us the same technique to break out the bottom.

Please wear a respirator when breaking CRTs open. That powder inside them is lead and photo phospherous. Both can cause serious issues.

Do be warned that old CRT TV glass is often leaded glass. So, if you cut yourself and get that in your bloodstream, you may have an unpleasant time.
