Crazy how a lot of these buildings remind me of parts I used to have. CX series PSU… that Corsair AIO cooler… things I used to own myself and upgraded from. Nostalgia. Loving these series so much. My PCs will never get this dirty ever, but it’s so nice to see someone show us how we can deep clean these ourselves for whenever we need to do it. Thanks, Greg!

Thank you for another shining example of turning a horror show of a filthy system into almost new (ware and tear aside) system. All the tips, and advice, personal revelations and so on. Its all so very much appreciated by many. This series is an prime example of what an enthusiast (as well as the newcomer ) can do to their system. In the same amount of time as they would put into gaming on it They could totally clean their system. I hope this series continues to find worse and more difficult situations so as to continue to promote and learn better ways to keep good hardware hygiene. Awesome content until the next episode. Cheers.

I also used my top fans as intake due to OC of memory. They need cooling due to the extended voltage they need 1.5V on DDR4. But now I'm using an open test bench. Much better. As other comments it is really nice to have something else to watch than all of the awfulness that is happening in the world. Keep it up Greg

Recently disassembled a spare GPU I had that gathered lots of dust and reassembled it myself, in part thanks to the confidence these kinds of videos have given me. Looking forward to the day the van comes to NYC if it does come to fruition, my PC likes to scoop up dust from my apartment and dirt from outside since I have to keep the windows open for good climate control.

itd be super cool to get some sort of idle audio test before/after the cleaning because you dont also clean but reapply the thermal pastes for everything (as well as tune fan curves). would be super gratifying to hear and useful info as well. and we can just imagine the improvements to full load on the computer because you of course dont want years of dust kicked into your office lol. great work.

Just ordered the free sampler from liquid iv using your link. Always wanted to try it but didnt want to pay 20 bucks for a pack of 12 just to find out if I would like it or not. So thanks for the sampler link. Was 2.99 for the shipping but I got 3 flavors 1 of each to try now. And I was looking at the prices even if I ordered a 120 pack I still would pay over a dollar per packet so the sampler worked out to be pretty cheap. 2.99 to see if I enjoy it is worth it! I already love your content and watch all your videos, but figured id check out your sponsor spot since I have some medical conditions that make staying hydrated a pain. Ive tried a bunch of other “hydration” products, but figured I would give this one a try since the sponsor offer was actually a really good deal! Lastly videos like this make me get the air duster and blow out my front mesh and components even though theres no visible dust lol. I just want to make sure it always stays clean!

Nice job, Greg! I felt my own fingers getting sore from all the cleaning and my nose tingling from the ludicrous amount of dust. I bet the Temperatures are WAY better now. How did that AIO even cool anything, caked as it was?! Love the be quiet! Fans. Subtle in comparison to some other RGB Fans - but Silent Wings technology + RGB? Sounds like a match made in PC heaven. This deep cleaning was a mission of mercy - the system needed some love badly.
@deadly_mir
@deadly_mir 2 жыл бұрын
They are very nice, very good looking, quality fans. However compared to the silent wings 3's current $20 price tag, these are $35 and typically can only be bought in packs of 3 because the single packs are continuously going out of stock. Might just be me, but I cant justify paying that much for fans when you can get ARGB Halo fans from tons of manufacturers for around $20 that can easily outperform these and come super close with acoustics.

Great video Greg. A suggestion: try switching up music between disassembly and reassembly? Just to give a different vibe and not play the same song twice in a row, plus you add the benefit of featuring two tracks by the same artist to promote more of their material. I saw that WD AAKS series hard drive there :) noticed that 500GB drive is dated 21 OCT 2009. I have an AAKS series drive myself, it's sitting on a shelf, although mine's 750GB, dated 26 SEP 2007 (so a couple years older). (I guess they were still making the smaller AAKS drives 2 years later, or maybe mine was one of the largest available when it came out, idk.) I'm not currently using it, but still keeping it for now cause it was the first SATA drive I bought, and it still works. It's not the first HDD I ever bought though - that would be an 80GB WD800BB PATA drive from 2001, and that's still working too. And even that isn't the first HDD that we've had in the family - that honor goes to a 40MB (yes, *MB*, not GB or TB) Seagate MFM/ST-506 hard drive that was in my dad's first PC that he bought in January 1989 (286-10, 640k RAM, EGA graphics, etc) for about $1800 or so. My current desktop's 5950X CPU has more cache than that 40MB HDD. :D I kinda wish I wasn't so far from Orlando as much as I hate anything more humid than, say, Arizona or southern California where I live, cause that system is having an intermittent issue where it just spontaneously shuts down and won't power back up unless I unplug the PSU for a while. The Corsair AX760 was brought over from a January 2015 build, so maybe it's nearing its time to go, idk though, I hope it's not the motherboard (B550 Taichi) or CPU cause that would be a pain in the gluteus maximus to tear down and rebuild in my Define R5. (When I've built my PCs, or even a time I transplanted one to a different case, it took several hours, up to most of a day, sometimes two, to get it done. But then, I haven't done it very often - Feb 2008 (build), Jan 2015 (build), Dec 2017 (new case), Nov/Dec 2021 (new mobo same case).)
