"I talked them down" Classic Greggo. One thing Greg, with a microwave that gets older, the magnetron can fail over time and you can end up with a 1000 Watt microwave that only puts out 650-700W and things don't get cooked the same in the same amount of time. I have tested older microwaves before people have bought new ones, the magnetron is the "show-stopper" if that gives out.

My mum bought that exact same microwave a month or so ago. She's super happy with it. I hope you are too! That meal looked OK, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy the chewy side of it. I don't mind salt, but I don't like it to dominate the food, which it sounds like it did with this one. That would make it a no from me.

Your old microwave had a "turntable" ("rotating stirring blades" are just hidden away) too. How old was your microwave oven? Non turntable microwave ovens are meant to last longer, easier to clean and make better use of the available space. 😮 But at least carousel was fun and entertained you - just as in Logan's Run!!

I used to get those to have at work occasionally, it's hard to describe because they're a bit crap but a good kind of crappy lol. Best if you cook it for the recommended time, then chuck it back in with just the veg for another couple minutes to get the sauce a little burned. If you overdo it with the meat part in it gets too tough.

Secret is to always take out the Crispy piece after 3 minutes and cook it separately on a rack in the toaster oven.. 💁🏻‍♀️

The veal looks a bit like processed veal, not a piece of whole veal. Although we get McCains, I haven't seen this yet but having seen you cook it, I would probably put it a dish, with some herbs and extra cheese (but then again I may as well make it myself LOL). Thanks for the review.

Easily the best of the McCains meals, although it's been a bit hard to get lately. ALDI also sold exactly the same meal it's disappeared from there too....😱🤔 The rissole meal was my favourite up until recently from this range , but I'm pretty sure they've changed the recipe so I've stopped buying it.....Shame really cos it was so tasty.....😡

I have this at lunch at work sometimes. The key to avoid the chewy crumbing is to dial in the cook time.... the more you over cook it the more chewy it is. I like them, especially if you can get them for $6.
