I really enjoyed this build. I like your simple straightforward style, wry modeling humor and no stupid blaring music thank goodness! I would never have considered building a 1/32 HE-111, especially not one by Revell, but you’ve inspired me - of course now the kit doesn’t seem to be available. Looking forward to watching more of your content.

Greg I have been watching your builds for some time mate and I must say that you have become 1 of my favourites. Your build subjects are always spot on and I love the way you make them appear basic but are in fact extremely comprehensive and invaluable to fellow modellers. Love your work, keep it up

My dad was finishing this kit when he died. It was detailed and fitted out with full crew. He was making it for my son who spent many hours with him at the RAF museum’s Battle of Britain exhibition, but it never arrived as the movers stole/lost/destroyed it kindly which broke my young sons heart ….. wankers. Still, nice to see one beautifully finished.

A fantastic result as ever Greg. And refreshing to watch someone build a Revell kit without continually slating them. Proper model making - you work with what you’ve got and get over the issues with skill and judgement rather than moaning. I also gravitate to the larger models - not sure why.

Best part of your vids are the wry self deprecating comments. The kind of things I say under my breath to myself on every project. Currently doing Revell's 1/32 Hurricane IIb. It's full of head scratching WTFs also. Anyway the Heinkel turned out great. No varnish coats. Hmmmm

You have some great skills as a professional model maker I have to say. I do like the Heinkel 111, not because I like war, but rather that it was either one of these or a Dornier 17 that bombed my grannies house in North Sheilds, luckily, it was only an incendiary bomb that didn't go off. Well during that raid, the whole family got down to the air raid shelter in the back garden, then realised they were one kid short, it was my dad! They found him still in the house playing with his toy cars behind the settee, oblivious to what had just happened! Just a little bit of history I thought I might add 🙂

For the future, Microscale makes a product called Micro Krystal Klear which is for gluing canopies and windshields without any hazing of melting. Im looking at a bottle now, for a product number but only see MI-9. It can also be used to make the glass for windows 1/4 inch wide or smaller.

Another great build ! I really do like the attitude you have when building a kit. All too many turn their builds into a major project where you just wing it at times which I think is very funny. This is the part about modeling that seems to be missing from the builds you see on U Tube, all too perfect in their execution on how to build a model kit the "right way". As for the size issue, sometimes bigger is better especially if you are an old timer with poor eye sight as myself ( 68 ). It's a fine looking He-111 even for a Revell kit ! I thought the ejector pin marks were port holes at first ! Keep on building mate, I'll be watching with my cup of tea. Cheers.

I really enjoyed the build, yes! Both for the exact model (I will build the same, likely in the autumn) and for the tips, tricks and thoughts you shared. You tell about your mistakes, what is hard, "oops, I broke that part" and "I can live with that". :D At the moment I am struggling (and having fun) with building four Spits that will hang in the ceiling. Also Revell, 1/32. I must say that Revell has improved a lot since I last built something from them - some 35 years ago... still some problems, the instructions says nothing about how to build them with the weels up, so I had to improvise. I found the wet sanding interesting. Just tried out steel wool (will continue with that) and it gives that shine of underlaying metal. Thank you for posting this! Happy crafting!

That's a great build. I was going to by this kit some time back but ended up making the 1/48 ICM. I just wasn't confident about the quality and engineering of the Revell kit. Having seen your video I think the kit looks ok to build so may go back to it. When painting the camo on my model I did the opposite of you and ended up with the greens being too similar so had to re-mask the whole thing to lighten the colour!!

Well, I know you said you are "cheap as chips" but, I would honestly consider investing in metal landing gear, especially for kits that size. They DO pay for themselves and, especially over time. Plastic tends to bend and eventually warp or snap, aside from the build stage.

Sometimes you can get a fine white bleed appearing under the top black coat, around the edge. Which can be very noticeable. Whereas adding the black first, will eliminate this.

I'm converting one of these kits to a CASA 2.111 from the BoB movie using the Heritage Aviation conversion. Sadly the Merlins are the wrong shape and the exhausts sit too low, so it's taking me some time to correct them. 3 years + so far as I have to be in the mood and it's been relegated to the bottom of a very large pile of other 1/32 kits. I think I'll cheat, too, when it comes to the weathering. The original aircraft being freshly painted for the movie , so just the basic exhaust staining etc and not much in the way of weathering. The engines are also solid pieces of heavy resin, with copious amounts of filler added and sanded away to get a more accurate shape - so the undercarriage may not be fitted due to the weight.
