Gregs Wicked Fishing

Күн бұрын

After purchasing a second hand 5 metre plate aluminum hull I go through the process of rebuilding and modifying the entire boat. This included making a massive casting deck with a large lid that opens with the help of a gas strut. This was designed for many reasons, one of which will be revealed in the part 2 final video coming soon. With loads of other modifications being done, I also had bayside Suzuki marine put on a new DF115B Suzuki outboard. Enjoy the build process and don't miss part 2 where I reveal the finished boat along with many wicked ideas and features making this the ultimate allround 5 mtr boat.

Hey Greg, I would love a run-through on all the costs for this one. For people out there trying to mod their boats knowing how much different parts might cost is really useful.
@gregswickedfishing
@gregswickedfishing 11 ай бұрын
mate it's a mine field when working out the costs. Every boat, modification and part can vary drastically. There's a reason that even boats of this size have such big price tags on them but. The cost of parts and work have gone up massively over the past 5 years and my budget went well over what I thought it would. I will try out line some costs in the final part 2 video to give people an idea.

Nice one Greg. Looks like you are building similar to what I wanted with my Formosa 525…was aiming for the ultimate small/big tinny. I know you are a zuk guy and the guys at Bayside certainly work hard. That DT115B will be like my DF140B, unbelievable economy pushing a fairly heavy plate hull. Love your vids keep it up.

Thanks heaps Craig. Yeah I reckon we've got it to as close as an all-round boat you can get particularly when I show people the features in the 2nd vid. The 115B will be perfect for it and I have no doubt the economy will be exceptional as always. Cheers

Hey Greg, great detailed video. to do something very similar to my boat up here in the Territory. Do you have a product link for the marine lining you used internally? Also did you use any special glue? I've never seen it sprayed like that but looks to simplify the job. Cheers mate
@gregswickedfishing
@gregswickedfishing 3 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. I actually found a big roll of that marine cabin liner on FB marketplace but if you go to any marine upholstery place they would be able to order it in for you. The glue to use is contact adhesive/fix. Spraying it is the only way to do it or you would use loads of glue.

the other thing , you should put the battery in a plastics battery box , as it safer and not have to worry about corrosion, or battery drainage. aluminum and battery don't like each other esply around sault waters

G'day. I'm a retired marine tech, started 54 years ago. I still can't understand why blokes always put those horrible binnacle control boxes in. They take up a shit load of room. There designed for the big boats. If you fir a small notch in the top r/h rear corner and fit a concealed side mount box into that it gives you extra room on the dash and you have that mongrel lever off the top of the dash. So the front is a sleeping hole. Why would you go Suzuki?
