Curious.....Greg @5:45 , with the use of this 4ft strap, how do you get full perimeter nailing of your sheathing?

The strap would go on over the wall sheathing, but I wouldn't nail the sheathing in the strap area, because the the strap nails should be more than enough nailing for sheathing perimeter. Check with your engineer to verify if you have one.

I have an existing carport. the roof for the carport is all one with the house I want to put two shear exterior walls to enclose it . I’m in California I’m needing help on what to use to fasten the walls to the existing 4x4 plates that’s already with the car port
