Are jigsaws prone to not cutting straight? I've always had lots of issues with them. Thought I had a faulty machine.
@tonystacey3347 Жыл бұрын
I’m in awe of the jigsaw accuracy- yes dewalt are top end tools but I’ve given up trying to cut anything with jigsaws. I have however got a tracksaw which is a game changer for accurate strait sheet cuts. One thing you didn’t mention was blade depth being just a tooth more than the board width makes for a better cut. This vid will be useful for all van builds - everyone has to go round a wheel arch! Bet it gets h high proportion of future hits👍🏻 The big thing here is the work you did with the insulation and the battens on which you’re laying the ply. Don’t scrimp on this or 12mm ply will wobble/bow under weight of thing standing on it. A really top class “episode” with this one Greg - mr V - I salute you!
@GregVirgoe Жыл бұрын
@@tonystacey3347 thank you Tony, you are dead right 👍🏼 the reason I can get away with using 12mm for the floor and not the usual 18mm for flooring is the closely spaced battens and the screw fixings to keep it well secured. Thank you for such a great comment 🙏🏼😊

@GregVirgoe Жыл бұрын
Most blades are up cutting because the pull against the saw base and work like a scissor pulling the base down to the workpiece. Sometimes you need to cut on the face but don’t want loads of chip out. So that’s when a down cutting blade is really handy. Just have to take it easy so it doesn’t jump around.

It’s one of them things, even though it’s only a small wheelbase Vauxhall vivaro which she does called the postage stamp, but when she sees it finished, I’ll be a total different but it will be just the weekend. Thank you Greg I am attempting to do my own van build. My late husband was a great woodworker. It warmed my heart seeing your wife/partner/friend holding the board while you sawed. My build will take a long time as I don’t want to rush it and make mistakes. I’ll keep watching your videos for guidance.

Perfect job again. Excellent advise - like a proper trainer Greg - your advice works for all sort of other projects as well. Nice to see the boss helping you as well 😊

The boss is always there behind the camera. Lou films almost all of these shots. She has steady hands 😊👍🏼😃

Actually that makes sense really when I think about it - the unsung hero of the channel you could say. Her camera work is excellent - my boss is also a Louise.

@@johnmead1337 ah, my Lou is not Louise, in fact she’s get very angry if anyone calls her Louise 🤣
