I am 56 and I woke up for work this morning with the highway song buzzing in my head from the night before, funny how music can do that, I think what is the most notable trait of these young guys and their music is the ability to rekindle a long dwindled adrenal rush music used to give me. Consider I lived through the British invasion and listened to the birth and development of the biggest bands ever to blaze trails into all our lives. What is cool is that Led Zeppelin rose to fame at a time when the world was ready for them and they were not hindered with familiarity and saturation of the genera they would eventually posses , in other words they were not hindered by some of the hurdles GVF has had to overcome , all this music has been done before and done to death for decades , the fact that these guys are catching on so quickly despite that, is testament to just how talented they are , the cohesiveness of their sound the lyrics melodies tempo timing beat inflections and blazing stunningly unique vocals by Josh are what make GVF able to bulldoze through a jaded audience deadened by decades of musical mediocrity and ignite the excitement in people garnishing reactions such as the ones on this blog, to simply say as some have that GVF is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and that is their appeal is crushingly marginalizing , my God listen to the acoustic version of Black Smoke Rising, edge of darkness these are genuinely masterful songwriters singers and musicians. These guys are on fire and I can’t wait to hear what comes next. I still remember how it felt when I got my first Zeppelin, Stones , Floyd LP and so so many other monster talents, the only reason I can remember , and I am being completely sincere in saying this , is that after listening to this entire track , for the first time in decades I felt it again I want to have all my friends over and crank this cool new album buy this new monster band Greta Van Fleet in its unstoppable infancy and we will all play air guitar and get buzzed laugh and not give a fuck about anything because the music is doing the talking and pulled us all out of our heads to let us live in the moment, that's some serious spiritual currency . Peace Everybody Darren.

Yes. Music is not just about what you hear, it's what you feel. Their music has the sound and, more impressively, the feeling of the late '60' s thru the '70' s. That's why they get so many good comments from us old rockers. There are bands, mostly European, that are reviving the sound. Bands like Spiritual Beggers and Firebird, but most of the members are old rockers, as well. These guys are still just kids. I hope the haters, whiners, jealous wannabes and bitter malcontents don't keep these "kids" from succeeding. I, personally would like to hear more.
@Piercing546 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree GreyMatterStew about the feeling. Music has to move you.

Alex Andrew YEP.... although they're definitely HEAVILY influenced by Zeppelin (especially the vocalist... hand gestures and all), I was immediately taken in by the "feel" of their music. I just discovered these kids tonight on KZbin and this must be about the 15 or 20'th performance I've seen of them. Trust me when I say (colming from an old (52yr) rocker), these very young kids have it in their soul..... it's not just talent but a deep indwelling of emotion that you simply CANNOT FAKE, no matter how much raw talent is there. It may sound corny, but I was moved from the very first song. I wish them all the success in the world. PS.... I WILL be going to see them if they're ever in, or anywhere close to North Carolina!

Yes, I can! When I heared them for the first time, I thought - "who´s that? I like it, it sounds very much like music from the 60s - 70s... is it led zeppelin???" and then I found out it's a band of very young kids! I think they're great musicians, have really good taste and admire fantastic old school bands from different genres... Maybe their style is still not that original, but hey, they are sooo young, they are at the beggining of their journey and they're now looking for their own way. I can't get their songs out of my head. They're begginers and prespectives form them are really good, I think.

Great singer with a strong, effortless voice. I love sibling bands. Considering they still have a member in high school and the others are barely out, they have plenty of time to evolve and shed the Led Zep shadow. Thank GOD someone is emerging to get old school guitar rock BACK on the radio and music television. I wish them luck.

Josh is an amazing singer. He uses his voice like an instrument, not to mention the uncanny ability to sound like many vocalists we've all known and loved for years. It's impossible to say that's not part of the appeal. They're definitely channeling the feel and sounds of some of the greatest music ever made in the 70's. Something tells me these guys are going to be huge!

I have heard of these guys just today while browsing KZbin, and I fell in love listening to their music and performance...very unique style, and very talented voices. Once you listen more of Josh's voice, it no longer sounds like Robert Plants'. And his vocals are extreme. Very good with high and low pitches. I see them making it big. I have so many compliments on them. I don't know where to start. I hope they make a visit in Sacramento, CA. I would love to see them in concert.

I consider this guy to be one of the best young singers I've ever heard. I think Bono has the best natural rock voice of all time and while he sounds nothing like Bono in style, I actually think this guy is a better singer especially if you look at old vids of Bono at this same young age. And these guys can write good songs. I see a very bright future here! Good luck!!
@radioman64896 жыл бұрын
Chris Plunkett I don't think Bono can sing at all. Bono's way overrated. Robert Plant had hundred times better voice than Bono can think of. I think this young kid sounds like Robert Plant and Bon Scott.
