I am 56 and I woke up for work this morning with the highway song buzzing in my head from the night before, funny how music can do that, I think the most notable trait of these young guys and their music is their ability to rekindle a long dwindled adrenal rush music used to give me. Consider I lived through the British invasion and listened to the development of the biggest bands ever to blaze trails into all our lives. What is cool is that Led Zeppelin rose to fame at a time when the world was ready for them and they were not hindered with familiarity and saturation of the genera they would eventually posses , in other words they were not hindered by some of the hurdles GVF has had to overcome , all this music has been done before and done to death for decades , the fact that these guys are catching on so quickly despite that, is testament to just how talented they are , the cohesiveness of their sound the lyrics melodies tempo timing beat inflections and blazing stunningly unique vocals by Josh are what make GVF able to bulldoze through a jaded audience deadened by decades of musical mediocrity and ignite the excitement in people garnishing reactions such as the ones on this blog, to simply say as some have that GVF is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and that is their appeal is crushingly marginalizing , my God listen to the acoustic version of Black Smoke Rising, Edge of Darkness these are genuinely masterful songwriters singers and musicians. These guys are on fire and I can’t wait to hear what comes next. I still remember how it felt when I got my first Zeppelin, Stones , Floyd LP and so many other monster talents, the only reason I can remember , and I am being completely sincere in saying this , is that after listening to this entire track , for the first time in decades I felt it again I want to have all my friends over and crank this cool new album buy this new band Greta Van Fleet in its unstoppable infancy and we will all play air guitar and get buzzed laugh and not give a fuck about anything because the music is doing the talking and pulled us all out of our heads to let us live in the moment, that's some serious spiritual currency . Peace Everybody,,,,,, Darren.

@@zacharyurbin5508 It's amazing how many GVF diehards use this same exact neanderthal argument. So your excuse to ridicule someone for having a musical opinion that's contrary to yours is "I'd love to see you get on stage and do it better!". So basically in your simian logic, no one is allowed to criticize or express an opinion on any musical material, which is WILDLY subjective by nature, UNLESS you are able to "Do it better than them". How unimaginably ignorant. That has to be one of the dumbest most thoughtless arguments I've ever seen. Relax ape, not everyone is gonna be as absolutely enamored with these watered down, substanceless, unoriginal, Kidz Bop Led Zeppelin songs as you, and that's OK. Geez you're acting like someone's making fun of your mother. I never said I didn't think they're all immensely capable on their respective instruments, I think they are and it's impressive in that right, but do you really truly believe that "this band is nothing like Led Zeppelin"? Haha you're telling me you hear ZERO similarities or valid points of comparisons? Are you aware that GVF used to be a LITERAL Zeppelin cover band? There's scores of videos of them as younger kids playing Zeppelin songs PERFECTLY. If you don't think they sound are try to visually emulate Zeppelin AT ALL, I think your ears are broken. Buy new ones. PS: Oh and yes I can play guitar, perform, sing and write songs much much better than GVF, I've been on countless tours and played rooms of over a thousand. But I certainly can't PROVE that to you so that means my opinion isn't valid right monkey brain?? And I'm not even saying that with pomp and circumstance it's just factual. I have SO much to learn. The fact is, it's just incredibly easy to make music with more Substance than GVF. Sorry.

I don't think he's one of the best, at least from a technical standpoint. GVF's easily top 5 for me on active music acts, but Jake Kiszka is not a world class technical guitarist. He's rough around the edges, and plays mostly pentatonic licks. That said, Angus Young is my favorite guitarist, and he's the same way. I love Jake's playing, but he does not stack up to Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan, or even Slash when it comes down to skill. Still, he's an incredible riff-writer already, and he's got quite a bit of talent on the axe. I have no doubt he's gonna go far, but he's nowhere close on a technical standpoint to the "greats" just yet. There's nothing wrong with that, either. I personally don't listen to music for technical proficiency; I listen to music that speaks to me or excites me. Angus Young and Jake Kiszka fulfill that need for me. Both of which have also written some of my favorite riffs of the past decade, too, so there's that.

defnick1 I’m 92 and I think that creed, nickleback, blink 182, and gvf are the best bands ever. I’ll keep rocking until my dentures fall out. I’m a dumb old idiot and my grandkids don’t respect or visit me.

@@Majorbrownfinger bullshit. Im 116 and my favorite bands are Royal Blood, Winger, SixxAm, Motley Crue, and GVF and I murdered my entire bloodline with nothing but a bottle of toothpicks

Awesome! Gotta hand it to the guitarist: he must have incredible core strength from essentially doing some form of crunches the whole time he's shredding on guitar. Great performance all around from the band, too.

Yes it is. I love that album. Anthem of the Peaceful Army is ok but the only song I like in the 2nd album is: "Lover Leaver (Taker Believer)".

His voice is annoying af. I love their sound, but that voice ruins the songs... much like Axl Roses' voice ruins GnR.

@@colesondilbeck4582 i get that you're serious, but look up the meaning of relevant. You're not using it correctly.
@colesondilbeck45825 жыл бұрын
I know the definition and just because you clearly don’t like them doesn’t mean that they’re irrelevant I mean, more than a thousand views in 2 minutes on a channel that hasn’t posted for more than a month? That’s pretty relevant to me.

So great that there's a kid playing authentic blues rock solos out there in his own damn style. So tired of these machine-like "shred" kids on KZbin doing a million sweep arpeggios with zero feeling and winning a trophy for it. These kids are awesome

What are you talking about, the whole dog gone band does!!! WOW!!! This is a HUGE breath of fresh air, a shot in the arm, and the most organic & raw rock sound we've heard in a VERY long time. These cats make ANYONE who FEELS & WITNESSES this think how all those stupid, group thinking, wannabe thugs loving their "rap" & "hip hop", and "da club music" ( where it sounds like alvin and the chupmunks are singing in every damned song )..... can take it, light it on fire, and then shove it straight up their clueless asses!!! This band just proved ( as I've always known, because I was a hard-core guitarist/lead & harmony singer/blues harp/stage performer for decades ) that even though "everything has been done before"........that you can STILL take it and put a completely fresh, energetic spin on it, to make it all brand new again. I used to feel really sorry for the youth today who happen to be SMART & CARING ENOUGH to start digging the music we had back in the 60's & 70's.......all those killer bands who made complete albums where about every song stood on its own.......yet they were born too late to witness & live it.......but NOW they ( and we ) have THESE CATS!!! I don't give a rat's ass what anyone says or thinks.......these cats just saved & revived rock & roll to its former glory in grand fashion!!! Ya don't "hear" this music........YOU FEEL IT. And that's something that has been totally lost in mainstream music for a very long time now.
