Gosh i cry every time that bridge hits and the songwriting just touches my heart. I've been listening to this song for years and you've captured the soul of a beautifully well crafted song. You, Gretchen, are one of God's children and he's gifted you with a voice that peered into the hardships and complications in my life. I genuinely love for bringing this song into my life. I cry as i write this because every word and every sound you've made to artiscally approach such a heart warming song is simply phenomenal. I really hope you see my comment. My favorite part of this is the last minute or so. Normally, the bass or the drums have to stay constant in a build-up or else it will just be chaos. Sometimes the keys or guitar get a cool motif to hold down while everyone else has fun. But here, Gretchen holds the motif and her trio all get to build and lay their stuff out. So cool.

I came across this while listening to the original Hancock version. Gretchen does a remarkable job of adding vocalese to the composition and her band mates are very good. Very interesting and creative. I hope to listen to more of her work.
