I have this kit in the "New Roundbadge Model" which I understand means that it is now made in the DW factory in Taiwan, to Gretsch's specs. It is fantastic. The only mods I made were to replace the 1.6mm hoops with 2.3mm hoops and upgrade the snare wires to 20-strand PureSound. Yes, this kit is that good. I play jazz and I've been playing since 1966.

You can afford good quality cymbals, buying these and saving a lot of money. The drummer counts, far more than the drums.

These sound really good for the price, but what is the quality of the fittings like. Are they as sturdy as the more expensive kits and will they last as long. If there is any issue with heads, why not put on better quality heads and charge a little more, to save time.

Have they improved the horrible rims Tom mount? Great drums otherwise.
