And would have to put All new capacitors which just had him to put a new capacitor approximately 3 wks prior. Which was with Service call $225. But he said with New motor would have to put New capacitors. That the New one he'd just put in wasn't compatible with new.motor? How old is your furnace? You do realize if it’s under 10 years old, it’s covered under warranty. The guy showing you the video didn’t know or tell you that his motor was covered under warranty. He spent over $300 to get an aftermarket motor when he could have gotten a company to get an original one for free from manufacturer. Everyone on KZbin tries to outsmart the system. Thanks for sharing this! I have an old goodman 240v blower in our attic that is still working after 30 years! Its a hydronics system and just hoping it make it thru another winter! The one in the Basement one was changed a few years back for $500. Two techs sadly fumbled with 3 call backs and 8 hours later. They and replaced it with a used rusted GE unit kicking around in their truck and disconnected the pre warming temp sensors on the heat exchangers. The replacement makes an intermittent banging sound when it goes off! It is probably a bearing or they forgot a grommet! Originally they were both pretty quiet when they ran!! The company did not stand by their work and will just charge me again. Jockey around a cold attic is not a fun job unless you can have a complete new or used blower housing and new motor installed standing by.

Saving money is great, and 1200 is steep, but just make sure to let people know that the transformer on most blower motors (240/12v) can hurt you pretty good, or kill you if it’s off. @@markbeard2222 He only knew he needed to replace the motor because someone gave him the RIGHT info. He was never charged $1200 for the job. He said that to make a video. You know fluff it to get people interested. So he ended paying someone $150 to diagnose the system, he then bought the motor online for $300. Most contractors would charge $600 for the x13 motor installed. And they back it with a warranty. Not that it’s rocket science but if he were to screw up his circuit board, he would be kicking himself. Also if it fails, he needs to pay for shipping both ways and wait a week. When a contractor installs it, they will be out with new motor, no extra costs during warranty. Even at $800, it’s not a rip off. Think. The contractor pays a bit more at supply house because of warranty (over the counter) The contractor will dedicate half the day to drive to job, diagnose, drive to supply house and back, spend time installing it, use his expensive motor tester to run diagnostics on it. They also need to pay for gas, insurance, tools, taxes, retirement benefits (like everyone else gets). So those costs have to passed on so they can make a reasonable living like everyone else. I believe you expect to make money at work also. I’m sure you wouldn’t spend hours and pay all work related expenses to make $15 an hour?????
