Fairy the retired racing greyhound runs faster than Usain Bolt on the beach. Watch her run and play with her new ball launcher on Frinton Beach in Essex UK. Fairy loves the beach and gets very excited every time she feels the sand under her feet. In this video Fairy meets lots of other dogs walking on the beach and you see how well behaved and friendly she is with various breeds of dog. Fairy enjoys jumping over the wooden breakers (groynes) along the beach.

I love to see Fairy run, it's a symphony of movement. I really wish I had had a camera set up like this to watch when my Irish Wolfhound ran down at the oceanside. It was heavenly.

I once saw a greyhound beat a horse on a track. But of course they are faster than horses! I love watching Fairy run freely on the beach. Ours doesn’t allow dogs. My greyhound also rubs his head on my couch, my leg and the ground. He also loves to get his ears rubbed really fast. He groans with delight! He also does that when I’m cleaning his ears and hit the right spot. My other greyhound could care less. They’re such funny dogs 😀

My sighthound could see red the best. Mine also had trouble with seeing balls in water, and yellow and green. The way I understand their sight, they see contrast better than colors. I suspect that toys get blown out to them like overexposing a camera. Found Fairy just before the holidays, she is so beautiful ! Hounds are always very good with animals and people, they don’t have a mean bone in their body, just sweet nature, just beware of other mean dogs, they don’t generally defend themselves. I very much miss my Memphis, I can see him running in Fairy now. ❤

Yeah, me commenting on a Fairy video...again...I watch a lot of KZbin because I don't watch TV...I digress...Fairy is my favorite and watching her run are my favorite Fairy videos. My wife gives me side-eye because I'm a 61 year old man making woosh noises when she runs past the camera. I do have a question, are those ears as soft as they look. I hope so because dog ears are the best.

Oh, *JOY!!* - for Fairy, and for us watching her! She's getting better at fetch/ returns. Interesting how she couldn't see the ball well in the foam of the water - that yellowy/grey-y/ white foam must look similar to her yellow ball. Mind you, from a distance, it wasn't easy for US to see (on the screen) sometimes, either. Thanks for taking us with you. All the best! (PS - after getting down to -30C last night here, the coldest since I've lived here, and VERY cold, considering the big lake moderates the temps, we're up to a "balmy" -17C. Got to go feed the birds - they need to eat their body-weight every day just to survive. Cheers!)

Thanks for the great video, I am putting a harness and junky cheap camera into my Feb budget for my yorkyveloceraptor. I will take her down to the Oregon coast now that most of the 'locusts' have left until spring. There are a couple small spots that I will try that are relatively free of Ospreys and Eagles. She is too small to be around these raptors and would make a sweet treat. It is freezing rain here right now, hoping the power stays on but it is all an adventure, happy cheers, stuntgirl

That was amazing 😍🐾🐾🐾🐾Fairy has so much stamina for a Greyhound. My GH Fergus did love the beach but nothing like Fairy. He would have a few runs then he was done 😂 wasn't really interested in Ball games. He just like liked to walk beside me. He was never on a lead in open spaces but even then it was just a few runs then back to my side. He also wasn't really interested in other, Dogs but they loved his quiet, calm demeanour. Fairy must be exhausted after all that full on running but the joy she got was immense 😻 I love all her coats. The best I've seen. Thank you for sharing sharing Fairy's Beach Day. People own them or rent them and they go and sit in them in the summer. They are usually fitted out with table and chairs or sofa like little houses! They are very common on Uk beaches

Usain Bolt can run up to about 27 mph top speed. A greyhound can run up to 45 mph top speed. So there's not even any comparison between them. Humans are actually slow creatures.
