Fine, I'll say it. Jack in the Box is a conceptual masterpiece and not even the majority of armys give it the respect it deserves.

I think in my interpretation, Arson is a song in which he expresses his question whether to continue burning brighter but risking burning himself out, or to just stop the fire and take a rest. You can see this in his line: "If anyone asks me, Right, I started the fire right away Now ask me, "Choose what?" Do I turn the fire off or burn more brightly?" Its a question about what would someone do if theyve reached their dreams and have done everything, but also understood how hard it was for them to get there. Would you still go on and risk everything once more, or stop while the audience is still clapping and take a rest finally?

Jhope already went to the military and yeah the track with jcole he let his idol which is jcole almost have the song bcz first he respects him so much + it's just a lil surprise for us before him joining the army. Jhope is known for being the sunshine since he's the most smiling person in bts and always radiate positive energy this album was so new but it also shows how much this young talented man is capable of. He is an absolute amazing performer so yeah looking forward to the rapline future reactions I can't wait! I'm getting addicted to your bts reactions ngl,I'm having them on repeat

Thank you for reacting to J-Hope! This song is quite meaningful for both J-hope and Army in the context of its time. This album was the first project to come out after the news of their enlistment plan. Previously, they also had an honest talk regarding their opinion on the effect of their rise in fame. They discussed how stagnant they felt as artists because of how restricted and hectic their lifestyles had become. It seemed they contemplated a lot about what they would be doing going forward. So the burns in this song could present both his passion for music and his rise to fame. How both of them burned him out as he walked the path. This song seemed to encapsulate that contemplation he had regarding his own career. But personally, I feel the album is his conclusion to that contemplation as it showed his determination to keep doing music. That message is more emphasized in the song 'More' in the album.

All BTS rap line have talked about the toll that fame and success have had on them in their songs. Suga in "Interlude: Shadow" and RM in "Wild Flower". You're right that success have brought a lot of pressure on them, not just the feeling that they have to constantly release music that's better than before, but also that they've become some kind of ambassadors of K-pop and Korea in general. I mean, they spoke at the UN when they were only in their early 20s. They began all this because they love music. They didn't set out to become the pride of Korea, and yet here they are now. They speak about this in "Yet to Come". Anyway. J-hope headlined at Lollapalooza in July last year and they rearranged his songs to have a rock festival vibe for that. The rock version of this song was created with the members of his Lollapalooza band. I hope you'll react to more BTS on this channel. You seem to really enjoy all of their songs you've listened to.

J-Hope said that because he is always cheerful and hopeful as part of BTS, which is something he does on purpose to bring hope to Army, that he went darker with this whole album. This was just a different side of Hobi vs being BTS's J-Hope. There's something about this song that reminds me of ICP in the beat or the music, I can't put my finger on what it is.

j-hope is my favorite rapper in BTS. I mean they're all phenomenal and have such different styles but I appreciate that j-hope's versatility and concept building. And he really can do so many different things with his voice so sometimes it sounds like you're getting four different artists on a track that's really just him. He's a subvocalist in BTS too so you get vocals sometimes too. He was a street dancer for a long time and has excellent musicality so his flows always hit just right and he's really creative with them too. And he's like the true hip hop head of the group so he brings in a lot of old school influences too. And his lyrics are great. He writes really abstractly and does a ton of referencing external content so it's hard to come by good translations and a lot of the wordplay and context go over non-Korean speakers' heads but if you spend a lot of time with really good translations, there's a lot to uncover in the lyrics. Anyway, I hope you'll check out more of his stuff! He recently did a collab with J. Cole and he's got some really different songs in BTS' discography and his first album Hope World!

With J-hope he always is refered to as sunshine but the sun that warms can also burn - in this case his passion can/does consume him. He showed us his dark side for the very first time in this album. It's modeled on the story of Pandora's box.

I really loved this Album from j-hope because it's so different from what he usually does, he showed us his worries and fears and darker thoughts more than he ever has. When I first watched this mv after the rest of the album I was honestly quite worried for him and his well being, a lot of the lyrics deal with his struggle with the title j-HOPE when he can feel hopeless. in this song the line "choose what? put out the fire or burn even brighter?" made me concerned for him like he was going to keep pushing the fire despite the pain it causes him, or quit altogether. I really loved discovering new sides to j-hope in this album and how experimented with styles that were pretty different than he usually does.

This is my first time hearing the song all the way through, but my initial take on it is that he set out to make 'fire' for himself and expected to bring everyone around him up with his own fire, but he accidentally made himself so hot that it scorched the earth around him, making it so no one could stay close to him and isolated himself, which is basically the opposite of what he wanted/expected. Obviously as a metaphorical take on his own life, that heat could stand for his fame, money, talents, whatever. I dont know if there is a deeper or continual story there through his solo music but thats what I get from it for now.🧐

You might have heard this via Lollapalooza. He was a headliner. It was crazy. I always say that J-Hope raps in staccato. He's a dancer and choreographer so his mastery of the beat is so creative. I'm sure by now you have seen Neuron. So super talented. For me, a lot of this song is that even though they've achieved great things, there is always a risk of losing the private self, the core of who you are. BTS members are very humble and always concerned about staying grounded. Add to it that they've achieved so much but what is the next step? Where do they go next? They've already achieved so much higher than any k-pop before them so how do you do that. South Korea has to maintain an active border against North Korea. There is real and present danger along that border and not something to be taken lightly. They serve in combat zones and the training is very difficult. South Korea requires all able bodied men over the age of 18 to serve. The length of time is generally about 18 mo to 2 yrs. Those not physically able (like Yoongi due to his shoulder surgery) must serve in civil service. Those with special circumstances may be excused - things like if you have a low education or if you are the sole provider for your family. But they are very limited. Women originally were excluded as they stay home and care for the family. It is likely to never change because South Korea is currently experiencing a severe decline in population that is really serious. They have the second lowest fertility rate.

*React to ‘More’ by Jhope and then watch the MAMA performance of More and Arson it’s AMAZING.* Edit: also in 5:48 when you said that he became darker as a person after passing through the fire you’re right, with this album he wanted to show a darker version of himself and since you don’t know him that much I’ll explain it to you shortly. J-hope is known from his shinny personality, for always being smiling and being positive, so this is the other side of him and he wanted to show it to us. 7:25 that’s just his voice🤣 he spells it so fast that it gives that sounds, he can do that on live too so I don’t think is edited.

Arson was about how Jhope "set himself on fire" by training so hard, wanting to be famous. The "flame" spreading rapidly across the world is how BTS has become more popular than they ever expected. In the second verse, he reveals how now he's gotten fame and success and reached all his goals. He's not sure whether or not he wants to continue "burning" but he feels like there's nothing more to achieve. Its almost like hes at the top of a mountain, remembering the struggle and hardships of climbing up and looking up to see nothing higher than him. It doesn't feel cocky cuz of his almost hopeless feeling of what more can i do.

This one is a very good song, not my favorite from his album Jack in the Box, but still so good that I never skip it. The voice effect you mentioned is j-hope's own voice beatboxing his sentences, he is very good at that. j-hope's rap style is very different from RM's and SUGA's, he is a dancer so he knows rhythm and his voice and flows are very percussive. As for the lyrics, I think he sees himself as an arsonist since he is always burning up with passion and hopes for his craft. He burnt himself up while becoming a global artist, now the hard work is DONE, he burnt it all (his hopes, his passions). And now that he has everything that came with his hard work, fame, "money, of course", he is asking himself if he "puts out the fire, or burn even brighter?" "Put out the fire", as in resting, no more burning himself up. He definitely deserves to rest. But, hopefully, he choose to "burn even brighter" because we need more music from him and a solo tour with this album and his previous mixtape.

Hi, I am a new sub. Good reaction, ty. I know u said u love Agust D stuff. Did u see his Agust D ‘give it to me’ MV kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYvKlGRorrFoqdU it is the 2nd MV after his Agust D one it continues a story. Well JHope I feel uses if not the same bridge than a similar setting as Yoongie. Love the connection. This was something else. Really powerful and scary images. I totally forgot to turn CCs on on 1st watch. Oops. For some reason it felt short. The ppl running on fire, geez. Ok, rewatched reading the lyrics. This is deep I think. My brain is not that insightful. I am going to have to watch reaction videos to figure this out. I want to know JHope's msg. My brain is just not working to figure it out. The Visuals were cool. Scary but cool. It's rap so it's short, makes sense. I did not like it much on 1st listen or even 3. It took me some time to get used to his rhythm. I Like More better its catchy. I like his truth. Hope u check out More by JHope, Chicken Noodle Soup, Hope World mixtape and Jack in the Box album. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 Wendy said on 7/25/22 Basically, Hobi is telling a story of how he's the arson that started the fire of his career and only he can put the fire out, so he says, the motivation behind his thoughtless ambition, like fame, money started the flame. 2 verse he goes into now that he has all that, up goes his born haters, but he's good, because he has his fan, label and fellas, that they burn bright together, Arsonist was fun, and tells the haters to F off. "More" was released as the pre-release single before his album "Jack in the Box". "Arson" was released as the title track. Shortly after this, he was the headliner at the famous "Lollapalooza Music Festival" in Chicago last August. He broke attendance records. I may never get over that concert. I have probably watched it at least 40 times. So good!!! You should react to it in two parts. P.S. For real lyrics check out doolset doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/?s=arson Arson was Produced by Michael Volpe and Written by j-hope, Michael Volpe. If u want song details she is the go to for us.
