Great News! Angelina has signed with Republic Records, Amy Winehouse's old recording company. Possibly because Amy Winehouse was a great influence on her when she was 10-11-12 years old, and she does it in her memory.

I think she has worked hard to get where she is. I believe she knows how good she is, but still is willing to work hard to get even better. She remains humble despite that. That makes her even more special. Patsy and Angelina present this a little differently yet both bring amazing emotion to the song. Can't truly say which version of this song I like better, but Angelina has become my favorite artist of forever and Patsy only brings me along on THIS song. Good reaction always. Thanks. Aren't we glad that Willie changed the original name of the song which was, "Stupid"? 😁
@YozhikvTumane4 жыл бұрын
"Stupid" isn't as _singable_ as "Crazy", and the "a" is a much better vowel for adding warmth to the voice, while "u" is more suited for clear notes with crystal shimmer, as in the "you" at the end of many phrases in this song.

Don't worry, when Angelina was 11-12 years old, her mother explained in an interview that Angelina only ever chooses the songs she sings and in the end sings the songs just as she imagines. Maybe it's a reason why Angelina has her own record label, ANGELINA JORDAN INC. ✌️😎🇩🇪🇪🇺💯 Independence is important to Angelina and her team.
@nyima040114 жыл бұрын
I think this statement wipes out your opinion Greywolf, that she is too humble to know how good she is. She has taken control of her musicianship from the start. She doesn't need more than the confidence she has. Confidence = Greatness in Angelina. Altho, I think the AGT show broke her heart a bit. Hopefully she will learn something useful from that experience as she goes forward.
@stevek53324 жыл бұрын
@@nyima04011 Yes, her body language in "Yellow Brick Road" is very different from the way she was in "Bohemian Rhapsody". She had Simon on a pedestal from age 3 ("..he's a legend..") and perhaps discovered that he didn't deserve it. It was probably a valuable experience for her in the end and the exposure she gained was important.
@genevapriest61904 жыл бұрын
To Angelina's credit, her stated goal was (a ten-year set goal) to sing for Simon. She accomplished that personal goal for HER!!! Mission accomplished. Yes, it served other purposes also.

Thank you for another excellent reaction to my favourite singer. Angelina is a very intelligent young lady. Her outstanding knowledge of music and innate ability to sing a song in such a way that the full emotions of the lyrics are conveyed to her listener are years ahead of her physical development. Listening to her slow, emotional singing is like being wrapped in a warm blanket on a very cold winter's evening. I respectfully disagree with you, in that I think she is very aware of how good she is and would consider it something of an insult to her to suggest that she is not. What is remarkable is she shows a "down to earthness" which is lacking in so many other singers, who think the world owes them, in the humbleness she shows and the respect she gives to other people. It is impossible for me to find adequate words to truly say how much I respect her family for the love and protection they have given her. Both Angelina and Juliette are blessed to have such a family.

Again, a moment of joy and blessing as another Angelina visit is appearing along with your heartfelt and loving comments, in my simple home. Your "Angelina kick" is just so understandable. Mine has lasted for 6,5 years now. By now I have a hard time finding joy at any of the main stream music of these days. Angelina thougt us how music is ment to sound I guess. She knows she is good, but she probably don`t understand how great her impact is to so many of us that listen to her. She told us during the NGT, that she actually apologized to an old lady who told Angelina she was touched when she heard her sing, and that she was moved to tears. "I`m sorry, I didn`t mean to", Angelina replied. I guess she know to day what the lady tried to say, but that time at 6 or seven, - she did not expect people to cry as a responce to her singing. Angelina herself probably don`t react like that from what she does. She is living there, in that wonderful place of her musical paradise. Whenever she hears a song, and I wonder if that song imidietly transform in her mind to these golden versions (or platinium as some of the angels mentions). Anyhow, as you said, there are magic involved in the way she prosess her music. So no better name then for her album from 2018 than "It`s Magic", and she even did put a great version of "Crazy" on that record as well, I think. Thanks again Greay Wolf for this, and for letting your "kick" guide you trough Angelinas unbeliveable list of great music. Stay well, and all the best for you from summerly Norway.

I absolutely love that song! And, as usual, Angelina does a beautiful, emotional interpretation here. I think she know she's very good but it's not important to her in the sense that she is not after fame, she only wants to sing to the world and make everyone happy. She's said that in many interviews and it's not a pose. A pure voice and a pure soul! Humble, unassuming and kind. I think she listens to a song, put it through the "Angelina filter" and out comes a gem. I truly think this is the case. And her family has given her a lot of control over what she wants to do (except for some lyrics) and hasn't fallen into the trap of signing any contracts until she's older. As humble as you see her, I can assure you she knows exactly what and how she wants things to be done. Since she was 8 years old she tells musicians, older men and women, how should they accompany her. She calls them "wishes" and gives the musicians a list of them, lol There are many rehearsal videos where you can watch that.

I actually saw Patsy Cline sing this song back in the 60’s at a honky tonk dance hall called the Blackboard in Bakersfield, California. Large dance hall and very dark - everyone dancing. Someone through it would be A good idea to run a spot light over the dancers. Suddenly, a woman’s voice over powered the song with “That’s my husband with that ________”. A female battle started - someone yelled “kill the light” Been a while but I believe Patsy continued singing through all the commotion. Fights were common In the bars during that period as a lot of the patrons were oil field workers and also people who Followed the growing season picking fruit etc.

Great reaction once again. I am not sure if you have reacted to Shield. In that song which she wrote she repeats a phrase several times "forgive me for all that I am". She also writes "you guard my dreams and care for my hope" and also, "promise you won't give up on me". Everything seems so natural with her. She just seems to be having fun and what we hear is pure magic. I don't believe she she underestimates the gift she has been given and she knows where, with the help of her family that talent will take all of them. It is an awesome responsibility to share that talent with the world hence the plea to her family to forgive her for all that I am. Even at age 11 or 12 she knows that the lives of those she loves and relies on will be altered forever as she pursues her dream. Remember that little 7 year old commenting as she waited to go onstage at Norway's Got Talent "when I grow up I want to be a super star? She and her family are well on their way to super stardom and we are blessed to be able to share this journey with them.

Thank you for your reaction and your support of Angelina. I don’t know if Angelina realizes how good she is or not. The one thing I know for sure is that she is always striving for perfection although in her own mind is something that she might never achieve. She practices days on end toward that goal. I noticed that after most of her public performances and while the crowds are cheering and she is getting a standing ovation, she either utters a muted thank you or gives a curtsy then stands there with her mind wondering what’s all the fuss is about and if she could have done any better. That is the trait of those who rise to the top. I and all of her fans are very privileged to watch her blossom in front of our eyes. In fact, when a few days go by without one of your wonderful reactions to Angelina, something is missing ... so, welcome back, GreyWolf 😁 Angelina has this unique ability that makes you fall in love, it has happened to all of us who have followed her for years and every time, seeing the reactors that react like us to her voice, consoles us in our passion for that beautiful girl. This is in fact one of the deepest and most exciting covers of all that she sings, the song "Crazy" by Patsy Cline in 1962, was played by Angelina in the summer of 2018 at just 11 years old. It's amazing how she uses her breath, her warm tone and her hoarse voice in various ways, all accompanied by her incredible low register which, IMO, is better than Patsy. ❤️

What you said about Angelina not realizing or understanding (perhaps due to her innate humility) just how awesome she really is was also said many times about Elvis Presley, especially during his earlier career. He didn't comprehend why people went so head over heels about him and his voice, nor realized the charisma he possessed. Angelina may be a female Elvis in the making with stratospheric level mega-stardom!
@zombie78574 жыл бұрын
Good reaction. You seem to be well settled not in Kansas :-) I suspect that Angelina doesn't think in terms of good or not good. She only thinks in terms of whether it's right or not right. If it sounds right she is happy. Perhaps her ability to invariably know what sounds right is just as astonishing as her ability to produce it.

Everybody associates "Crazy", of course, with Patsy Cline. But, don't forget that it was written by Willie Nelson, who has a few recordings of it out himself. I wonder if Willie has ever heard Angelina's version. I am sure that he, just as Patsy, would totally approve. When you say that Angelina doesn't know just how great she is, I look at it from a little different angle. There's no way she can't know - everybody in the world is telling her. She is just so humble, intelligent and mature that she doesn't let it go to her head. Thanks again for another great reaction to our girl. Keep 'em coming!

I think she has only two original songs so far, but the most bizarre and wonderful thing is that I got a YT notification of Norway's "The Voice" and one of the contestants was performing a cover of AJ's own "Shield". She's definitely a Norwegian treasure and having someone cover one of her originals on national TV is pretty cool. I noticed that Morten Harket from A-ha was one of the judges. I heard a couple of songs from a recent unplugged concert and he's still a very a good songwriter and producer. I think it would be great if he collaborated with AJ on an original project at some point.

While Angelina stays very true to the original melody, she gives this song a different feel from Patsy's version. Patsy's has a piano and rhythm beat (sounds like some sort of clapping), along with background singers, giving it more of a country western feel. And her voice is more nasal (but beautiful), which also makes it feel more CW. While Angelina slows it down just a tad, and with just a guitar accompanying her, she gives it a bluesie, jazz vibe. She has another version on her album "It's Magic", where she is accompanied by the Norwegian National Military Band. Also very good, but I like this version best. I always look forward to your Angelina reactions, GW. 😊👍
