I suggest that you take the food in your hot bag, to the door and take a picture of the bag and food. It lets the customer know that you used a bag and has increased my tips on a lot of orders. Love your video’s!

Dumb question maybe idk but even tho the map takes you to customers address is there a technique you guys use to find their address quick I mean I alwasy seem to have hard time locating the street number. I did my first trip the other day and I swear I get discouraged cuz it took me walking back and forth for half min to find the address

It can be difficult finding the exact building and stairwell in some apartment complexes. It’s also not always obvious right away where to look for the house numbers.

In most cases, Google Maps navigation takes you to the building. Finding the actual door takes some poking around sometimes. When giving rides, if the rider has real time location on then that helps immediately identify which building they’re in.

I just signed up for DD and haven't been out yet. I live in a rural area with no DD so I plan to drive into the city about 30 minutes away, park near all the restaurants and turn the app on there. In this case, would I start calculating mileage from when I leave my house to get into the city or not until I get there and have accepted my first order?

I wouldn’t count this as legal advice, but my understanding is that if you drove to a location in order to drive for clients as a self-employed business, then those miles count as a business expense as well with the IRS.

Yeah i use Gridwise for just the pay. I have another job that tracks miles but here is the thing folks your miles get capped at a certain amount. I own a business and asked the CPA and he told me you can’t double dip. Sucks.

What do you mean by not double dipping? If I drive 50 miles in a day for Eats and 50 miles in a day for Dash, I can claim 100 miles for that day. You simply write down your starting gig mileage and your ending gig mileage each day you drive and claim those miles. There are no caps on the mileage you can claim for the tax year, as long as they are accurate.

@@j.t.downing3932 uh yes there is caps my friend. I own a business and the feds will only allow you to claim 1 or the other. I can either claim my gas receipts or mileage. You can’t take both that’s why I say there is caps to your deductions. This is directly out the mouth of a CPA. Believe me I don’t talk to some guy who works the local Walmart during tax time. Unless you own a business your playing by one set of rules and yes the feds have red flags that set things off and if you claim a high mileage count then you better be ready to show clear and precise records. Granted there are apps that do it but how accurate are they. I did a order Monday for Uber and when I got the there the store they were closed. Now Gridwise is saying I got paid for it. However uber shows nothing. So that’s why you have to be careful with your miles.

You can claim as many miles as it took you to make the money! Yes you can claim either mileage OR gas/car maintenance (not all) but mileage comes out to be more. That's what where talking about here... tracking mileage. Add up all the miles on every app that you are paying taxes for.

I don’t care how many miles you drive to do this job but you might want to have a good app to keep track of your miles because if you claim a very high amount of miles especially when they are Paying out near $0.58 a mile you do the math. Let’s say oh I did 10k miles you better have a verified independent app or something that will back you up if your audited to say yes I did the 10k miles because to write off $5,800 the IRS is going to raise the red flag for it. I own a business for over 15 yrs and that’s why i shove the miles I do here doin this over to it. I get better write offs anyway owning a business. Just like how you can write off the use of a rental car. Your car in the shop 2-3 days get a rental and what ever you paid for it save the receipt and get to write it off come tax time. I’m sorry if you didn’t understand what I meant with caps but with the president wanting to to go deeper and deeper into your financial records you better have a good record keeper and Gridwise says I made more money this week even though didn’t get paid from Uber a order that I had to mark the store closed I’m confused as to where the extra money came from. But if they are getting that info from the sites and they are accurate then why the discrepancy?
