Wishing Sally all the best going forward, she has made such progress with Alexs guidance. In dealing with loss of a loved one my partner and I visit a location we hold dear to the memory of them. I also have made a box full of memories, which I placed a scented candle, cards and letters I write on their birthday. I also buy a Xmas gift each year to donate in their honor.

I have worked on compassion for all the parts of myself and my life that have changed as a result of loss. I have been surprised by how many things have changed. It’s a starting over on many levels. A re-birthing which can stir feelings of fear at times…. A becoming.❤️

It's great to see how she's improved, learning to say 'no' is such a tough one.

This is why parents with children in second marriages should always have a will and include their children !

Thanks for this. Grief is still taboo, although it is talked about more these days. I am always very open about the grief that I experience. My father died a few years ago and grief can still creep up on me. Processing emotions is key for me as I am still wading through many repressed emotions from my childhood and earlier life. This is messy but it is all part of this human experience. Any tips on dealing with grief is really helpful and we should all be talking about this emotion as it is part of love. 💜

...indeed Grief is the most complex emotion to deal with and if the loss is of someone who had been a constant source of emotional support and been encouraging and playing an important part in One's Unique Life...sadly words just fall short and that sometimes makes the whole process further challenging...many thanks to Alex, Sally and everyone for acknowledging it🕯🙏💐🕊💝

Thank you for reaffirming my own experience of shared emotions in grieving as a healing process and a mutually encouraging experience of being human while raw and in sorrow, coming to terms with the loss of a loved one, forgiving the bad, being grateful for the good, letting go of the past...

I appreciate your comment, Alex, about allowing ALL your emotions for a loved one, love and anger both. Important and revolutionary to me (I'm 72. Does generation have something to do with it?) And that a person can feel hatred for a person they deeply love. Wow. I always thought that was likely the beginning of the end of a relationship.

I'm glad you found helpful Andrea.... I think generation can play a role, but these issues can arise at any age!

I feel so sorry for Sally. Her SF sounds like a very unpleasant individual she’s better off without him in her life.

Alex " ...we can love someone and we can be can also be really pissed off for something they did or didn't do ...all of our emotions have to be welcome " Hairdresser cries 😅 My mother had cancer for many years b4 she died from it. She did her will in bed abt 2 days b4 she died ! The lawyer had to come to the house to do it. I always felt guilty phoning in sick to work...why do we feel that ? We go back way to soon after being sick, I can see now how that is si not good for us.

It sounds to me that he was jealous of your relationship with your mother.

Your mother left you happy memories of her. The rest is just stuff.
