Grevious didn't seem to have any force powers though. His light saber skills were more about having lots of limbs to swing them about and enhanced reactions from the cybernetics.

@@BuddyBoy-ne1nw Well they don't really explain it in the movies, but cybernetics do have a negative effect on force users. I can't explain it well, but basically the more cybernetics the harder it is to use the force. Anakin had tremendous potential, but once he became Vader his access to the force was reduced. Vader only lost his legs and an arm, but Grievous is basically just a set of organs. Even if he was Maul, a force push/pull is probably the best he would be able to do, if anything at all.

Knowing Grievous’ backstory, I’m glad they didn’t tarnish it by mixing it up with another character. Our good general is fairly fleshed out on his own (despite actually having very little flesh), just not in a way we see in the films or shows.

It would have made more sense from a strictly realistic standpoint for Maul to survive the way Grievous did. Grievous is basically a fallen warrior ; they retrieved his brain and vital organs and put them in a shell. It would have been more logical for Maul to undergo the same treatment than for him to somehow survive for years nurturing on pure hatred and get himself iron legs. But in the end it wouldn't have worked, mostly because Palpatine and Dooku would never have picked a (former) Sith Lord to occupy Grievous's position. Way too dangerous.

It'd make sense if you really thought about it. They intended for Grievous to be force sensitive anyway, and controlled him through cybernetic chips. Grievous's hatred for the Jedi would make sense through the concept of a once proud Sith, having his position robbed & replaced by the Jedi, only to be demoted to a slave warrior general.

Fun fact: in so-called "Legends", i. e. the True Canon, there was a droid called "Necroisis" that was put together from Grievous' remains wielding a double-bladed red lightsaber akin to Maul's.

I only consider it legends in the sense that it's legendary. Disney star wars is like Disney Hercules. Sure there's some cool stuff, but it doesn't compare to the OG stuff, and that is what's gonna stand the test of time

They have a lot of execution flaws when you view them as individual movies but taken as a trilogy I think they're actually very well thought out. The prequel trilogy had one goal, which was to tell Vader's origin story, and it did that very well. There's a lot of very clear connective tissue between each movie

When I played a lot with General Grievous from Movie heroes, I still have him and see the clone wars Darth maul with his first legs and see the comic that he fights with ben Kenobi from the expanded universe, I said Hahaha you have the same type of legs I wish they would face each other alone that Darth Maul and Grievous faced each other but Darth had already changed his legs but I didn't know they had this idea but it makes it interesting to know that this was the plan but much better that they are individual characters both have a good story being individual characters I remember them Jedi Knight mods where you could face them Hahaha nice video 👍👍

This would have been an awesome way to tie the Prequels together but has the same problem as what actually ended up happening to the character. How do you survive being sliced in half? But it's still easier to believe that Maul stayed alive long enough for Palpatine to find him on Naboo (within a few days) than it is to believe that he survived for 10 years, mutated into a biomechanical junk spider and somehow wound up on a different planet.

I think the problem with this is that it would have overshadowed Vader. You have a really cool CGI Sith Lord, and in the same film we see Anakin get his clunky metal suit. Grievous not being able to use the Force means he isn’t too OP.
