There is a setting that also adds in a circle to the middle of the screen when in combat that I find useful when using range attacks. For bow good if just doing a quickshot and want to make sure your aim is at the enemies head.

My recommendation would be turn aim assist off completely. I found that in the middle of combat, the game would prioritise targets that were out of range for my attacks, when there were enemies right next to me. Means you have to manually aim, but it's been less of a headache ever since turning it off. Speaking of headaches, if the over-abundance of flashy lights constantly on-screen disagree with you like they do with me, turn the brightness all the way down to minimise eye strain. Downside is already-dark areas of the game are now pitch-black and you can't see shit.

Usually I woud agree but I think personaly for controller the low assist is nice as sometimes the camera might jurk as i'm adjusting aim, so it feels a bit smoother when tracking fast targets when that happens. And by the GODS! yes the flashing effects are so bright lol

Theres lots of variety. I have 6 different long coats and robes I like and Ive barely started playing. You can transmog at any time and you can change appearance any time as well. You cant dye armor but theres plenty of it.

I know certain people, purists, will be ticked off by this setting, but I feel you missed an important setting, IMO. That's the 'God Mode' or "Prevent Death" sitting under Gameplay. You can only use it under the Storyteller difficulty, fair enough, but it just makes the game more enjoyable for me, and I'm sure many others. This is one big part, for me, that Bioware got right with the game. I'd like to see more devs include a baked in 'God Mode' with their offline single player games.

oh man. murder hobo loot goblin here, so I do not get why you would ever turn object visibility to anything except for always on. I don't like the combat text and all the different status bar colors, just give me one red bar that gets smaller with each hit. idc about the percentages, and all the other bars are a massively distracting clutter. terrible UI choice there. (yes I get what they're for. still is a clusterfuck, visually)

Someone may have said it but you can quick cast abilities by holding left trigger and then using abilities bound to X Y B. I completely missed the tutorial pop up for this because it popped up in combat. Made combat feel a lot smoother.

They’re on the PS5, keep looking. The Settings menu actually CHANGES between the title screen and in-game. Be sure to enter gameplay before you check Settings, and you’ll see Gameplay as a new Settings option.

Watching you play in this video, the one thing that strikes me as needing fixing is the information overload of all the graphical ‘stuff’ that fills the screen during combat. You have all the glowing spell stuff, the damage numbers, the particle effects, etc… all of which is just way too cluttered and makes it really difficult to see what’s actually happening during combat. Being able to turn alot of that stuff off, might be an improvement I think.

I find the game to be much more immersive with combat text disabled. We don't need to see numbers, especially at lower difficulties. Just go for what feels right for your character and enjoy how natural it becomes to play without distracting arbitrary numbers popping up on screen.

I wonder how many people changed the parry / dodge timing, bc I’m seeing wayyyy many people saying the combat is too easy, boringly easy, and I’m finding it stupidly cumbersome. It feels like I’m fighting under water.. like nothing happens instantaneously with my button presses, and everything just feels… flowy. The dodge and double tap O is soooo slow so the amount of times I’ve dodged and then found myself in an aoe marker, but then the lag in dodging again caused me to get hit.. Or how many fights happen in a tight corridor / bottleneck, multiple enemies hitting me and my dodge / parry are just forever fractions of a second behind FEELS bad. And adds arbitrary difficulty that doesn’t need to be there. I refuse to believe anyone actually find the physics in the combat “fun” or “easy.” I find it far more likely that due to the culture wars, people could be dying left and right and annoyed to shit with this combat but would never admit it out loud
