If you really want to min/max selling items, sell the right items to the right vendor and you can get a lot more faction strength. The default is +3 strength but some items will get you +15. It seems to work by selling an item related to the particular faction's enemy. The gold value doesn't seem to change - just the strength. So, for example, if you have 10 Venatori sigils and sell them to the Grey Wardens, you'll get +30 Grey Warden strength. Sell the same 10 sigils to the Shadow Dragons and you will get +150 faction strength. So sell your stuff as per the list below to get the most out of them. Shadow Dragons - Venatori items Antivan Crows - Antaam items Grey Wardens - Blight related items Lords of Fortune - Dragon related items Mourn Watch - not entirely sure but anything undead or magical seems to be better Veil Jumpers - not really sure, but I do remember they liked Nug Carvings

Even easier, the game auto-sorts items based on value. Go to each vender and only sell the first few items that will be 15 or 8. Save the rest fir that last hurdle

There's 1 exception for Lords of Fortune. They have several items that yield 75 faction points. After the update it auto sorts so no more guessing or trial & error required.

@@pragmaticeagle4832 Aha! That explains it. I was almost finished the game before the update, so I didn't actually sell very much after it patched. Although I did notice the +75 items. Which. of course, I only looted after I had the LoF at 3200 lol Doing a second playthrough now and it does sort them - thanks for the heads up!

From what I'm gathering it's a lot of the writing and dialog. The latter I get because the voice acting can be kinda... flat at times. Neve is one of the biggest offenders of this as she often sounds like she's reading her lines for the first time and they just said "good enough" and as for the story it's just kinda sub-par to okay at best and both of these factors aren't really something you wanna hear from a franchise built on phenomenal stories and great characters, having something that's okay at best in that department is a real downgrade. Plus a lot of the choices don't quite feel all that impactful Of course all that is subjective, I personally agree with KZbinr Kevduit in his video on the game: "it's an okay fantasy game, but a lousy Dragon Age game"

You can have another Potion, i dont remeber where but i think its in Rivain. You can get a Rune for the dagger that gives you +1 Potion

Numbers higher than 3 are favoured by a faction and appear to always be shifted to top row when you sell to a faction. Shadow dragons like - wine and Venatori items Crows- coffee, tea and alcohol Veil jumpers- elven artifacts, dread wolf statues and mythology statues puzzles you find in world Grey wardens- griffin and darkspawn. Mourn watch- items related to the dead Lords of fortune- treasure and dragon related items

Another tip: when you find those altars & little wind chimes pop up; you’re supposed to destroy them to get a permanent health boost. This seems extremely obvious to me but apparently a lot of people said they had no idea

Oh no! You should sell those valuables at the relevant merchant. The veil jumper one's are worth 15 rep each. The valuables you can buy are for reputation, not for money

This. I check each main merchant when I pass. It sorts the most liked (15 reputation) items to the top and i sell those only. I got each faction to full strength on the 1st PT.

You can definitely have more than 6 potions. I don't personally use that chest piece but with it equipped my potion count bumped up to 7. I also don't have the Antivan Crow background so I'm assuming the max is at least 8 with that chosen.

I'm not sure the class matters, but I'm playing as a Rouge and was pass the Davrin mission (A Warden's Best Friend) so I went and loaded an old save file to see if I missed it but the chest had a sword (Weisshaupt's Wail). Is it chest in front of the elevator.

That first tip is invaluable, tyvm. Treviso got destroyed in my previous pt so not only I couldn’t buy anything but also I couldn’t max out the faction strength, even with all the side quest done. Shame we won’t be getting a dlc bc I am really enjoying the game.

OK but what's the point in getting reputation if the faction merchant has disappeared and you cant buy those items anymore? Also...how can you see the exact amount of reputation per every item you sell? I dont have that in my game...

I'm assuming it has something to do with the end of the game. There's a big emphasis on gathering allies, so maybe the factions you focus affects the boss fight, or just cut scenes idk. I guess I'll find out in 50hrs lol. Your game should have it as a tiny number at the bottom of the item tooltips. It's not much rep usually, lots of 3s and 8s lol. You have to be speaking to the faction vendor when you check, it doesn't show in inventory.

The wisp is in the crossroads, it appears after making the choice between saving Minrathous and Treviso. The faction merchant themselves disappear from the game in the destroyed city.

I think the combat in this game has a skewed perception based on your starting class. Mage is annoying as shit. Your block / parry is tied to your mana, which is ALSO how you use your skills. So you either sacrifice your CDs to block/parry (which has awful input timing), or you dodge. But there are so many damn enemies at once that it results in just you spamming dodge over and over for all the melee, the aoes on the ground, the attacks coming from ranged. Not to mention the input lag. Idk why people act like the physics in this game is fine. It’s like being underwater. Everything just feels flowy and like it’s a second behind my button press. I’m willing to concede for other classes maybe the combat is more enjoyable, but as it stands, I don’t find combat in this game fun. In fact I find it so damn unfun that I find it hard to believe anyone finds it fun at all. I think the ppl who don’t - but want their “team” to “win” - will continue to laud it as if it’s the bast game in the history of the world. Even when it objectively has issues

Started as Mage, and yeah, it can get difficult at the start--on nightmare. On normal modes, it is fine. You need to get used to managing aggro and positioning. It takes some time to get used to and feel around the mage class, but it is very rewarding in the long run. Especially after you get the warriors to help you manage aggro. As for your last paragraph: I think that just has to do with how you see the world. I guess that's fine, but I will say for me, the combat is pretty good and definitely a foundation they should build on. I have complaints about other things in the game, but only nitpicks for the combat system.

​@@AKABoondock19 Yeah you are just repeating the drivel going around but did you know it doesn't have denuvo on it? And the steam version doesn't make you log into ea's launcher. They planned no dlc from the start, taking the time to tell the whole story they meant to instead of selling season passes to inflate the game price more. The game also respects your time, and there are very few side quests that feel like busywork or just fetch xyz. Yeah it's different from the other 3 games but all three of those are drastically different from each other. The story hasn't broken from lore so far for me. I'm solidly towards the back end of mid-game now. Instead of encouraging ea to keep doing these things, people are losing their minds over a bunch of made up stuff and about 20 minutes of side content most normal people won't even care about in a 50 hour game. The average person sees trans or nonbinary stuff, shrugs, and moves on. They don't throw toddler tantrums. You do know this is the same company that made a game series with blue aliens that can both bear and father children with other species, right? But if you wanna miss out to go on your crusade, so be it.
